If Lewis comes out in killer mode, he Ko s Shavers before 5.
If he's in his chilled out mode, he gets it done in around 9,but he risks the Acorn smashing his killer right hand on his chin.
And that could potentially be fatal.
This to me is spot on. Ironically, the early (less skilled) Lewis is more likely to completely wipe out Earnie in a couple of rounds, max. The most careful, better overall, Steward Lewis runs much more of a chance of getting starched. His latter-era cautiousness could both work for and against him, as stretching out a fight against Earnie, as Fergy says, ups the risk factor. And Lewis couldn't take that flush shot that hit Holmes, he'd be done (all respect to LL, a top 6 ATG).
1/10 Shavers by KO, 9/10 Lewis by KO, always before the 6th.
He would definitely. The shot that dropped Larry, would have Lennox almost Cometose for the day.
And that's coming from a big LL fan too.
I think I'll go with the #3 HW on my HW list as opposed to the # nothing HW.
As much as I think most people will hop on here and vote Lewis, which is what I did, Lewis' chances of picking up another loss are actually pretty high. Shavers' strengths fit right into Lewis' weaknesses like a hand into a glove. While I mostly favor Lewis to beat Shavers by TKO, Lewis of course was vulnerable to the right hand. It gave him his two only losses in his career. While Shavers had a harder time landing the thing than either McCall or Rahman, he still had a chance. One must keep in mind that Shavers floored tougher men than Lewis with the right hand, namely Holmes, also a much more brilliant boxer. So if he could floor Holmes, it seems to me only more likely he could floor Lewis. But Lewis could have never gotten up from that kind of a punch.
Shavers too easy to hit for Lennox
Obviously Lennox would have to be wary of Shavers big bombs. But Lewis was an intelligent fighter and would box his way towards a unanimous decision
Barring a big shot by Shavers, Lewis is a heavy favorite here
LL demolition job.
Earnie obviously can do a hasim rahman on Lewis, if Lennox doesn't take him seriously. But i won't favor him to do so.
If Lewis does give a crap about Earnie's punching power, he takes Shavers out in the first round.
I think LL does him in an early, ugly KO similar to the ruddock one.
Holmes is in my top 5 HWs, but what proof is there that he is "tougher" than Lewis ?!
Lewis with ease by KO, Shavers won't be able to lay a glove on him, he was too rudimentary.
