Yes, it is my opinion and one that matches the vast majority. I know how to score a fight. I used punch stats to shed light on any BS. Lewis landed more, threw more, and was more accurate. He was also more in control of the fight. He won it plain and simple.

Who are these media people you keep referring to that gave Lewis vs. Holy 2 to Holyfield? When I see comments like Holyfield out jabbed him, and out punched him thats not correct so I won't take that person's card seriously. It's fanboy stuff, or someone who doesn't know how to score a fight.

Can you post the media scorecards here? Lewis was't popular in the USA, so I could see a guy like Teddy Atlas giving it to Holyfield.

Your post is rubbish as usual
Ruiz I was not a gift in particular as Ruiz was lucky to escape with a draw in the third fight.holyfield lost a close one against Moorer that could have gone either way.A draw and a loss is fair in the Holyfield-Lewis fights.

Lewis himself won a close against Mercer and Holyfield II.

This series of fights are the main reasons I don't believe Lewis was as "great" as some think he was ( Mainly British). Look at the long history of heavyweight boxing.
When a well past prime ex champ met a champ in his prime, the ex-champ was usually destroyed.
Dempsey vs Carpentier, Louis vs Schmeling, Marciano vs Louis, Ali vs Liston #2, Holmes vs Ali. Their was no doubt about who the winner was.
Lewis couldn't do in 24 rds what fighters like Ruiz,Byrd, Donald, and of all fighters Toney was able to do, dominate the well past prime ex-champ.
This, and the two fights were he was K'oed by fighters that were good, but in no way special drops Lewis down for me, regardless of the countless excuses made for him.
I actually had Lewis winning both fights. But he in no way dominated either. Its leaves the question of what if? Could Lewis have defeated Holyfield between 90 to 96 when he looked his best at heavyweight?
Based on the fights in 99" the answer would be no.
Yes Lewis in my opinion won both fights against Holyfield. But he with the height, weight, reach, youth advantages couldn't do better than James Toney? or Donald? Byrd? Or Ruiz?

I doubt Lewis could have beat either Holyfield or Bowe in the early 90s. He was a great puncher who had some obvious deficiencies imo.

Once LL got with Steward, that made him more dangerous than either at that specific time imo.

Interesting how low Bowe sank. Around the time Lewis got with Steward, I think Bowe was done anyway. But even at his Holy 1 beating prime, Bowe would have had major trouble with Steward Lewis imo.

You made some good points, I mostly agree with you. But I think Lewis was still excellent, great fighter, just not the best ever as some of his fans (like Eggman) claim. I think his power was the main factor why he looked sensational in some fights (Ruddock, Golota, Grant, Botha, Rahman ll) and not so much in others (Mercer, Mavrovic, Holyfield ll, Tua, Vitali). It's simple - if his opponent could take his punches, things got more complicated for Lewis.

A few times? This is fantasy. What rounds? Show us. Holyfield won a few rounds, but he didn't land enough or hurt Lewis enough to win the majority of them.

Also which division did you box in?

Holyfield stunned Lennox with a short left hook in round 7. But he didn't have stamina or work rate at that point of his career. When he raised his work rate in rounds 6, 7 and 8, he tired badly and looked extremely gassed in rounds 9-11 before making a final effort in round 12

Yes, but Blade said Holfyield stunned Lewis a few times. That's fantasy. I agree with Holy being gassed late.

Lewis fought in spurts. Holyfield just outboxed him, beginning to end. Maybe you aren't good at scoring fights.
