I can't believe this is still being discussed! what is there to talk about? It was a clear Lewis win, but the judges scored it a draw so it was officially a draw.

The best way to think about it all is pretend it was a 24 round fight. The man who won the majority of the 24 rounds officially won the series in the end. All's well that ends well.

Well, the Warrior didn't fall many times in his career, did he? ;)

    Awesome chin he had.

Plus, the uppercut is not really a KO punch. It's more of a set-up punch. I can't think of too many one-punch uppercut KOs.

KO's happen when the brain to impacts on the inside of the skull, or is there is a rapid twisting motion of the head. The neck takes the majority of the concussive force out of an uppercut.

I disagree. There was plenty of brain motion on that shot i'd say.

Grant dropped like he was shot after an uppercut from Lewis. Mercer TKO'd Damiani with one uppercut. Abraham vs Gevor last summer.

They are less common because the uppercut in general is not nearly used as much as the right hand or the left hook, but it's one hell of a punch that can definitely hurt you or knock you out.

That wasn't just my opinion, it is backed up by biological facts.

    Lewis vs Grant:
    1) because of the angle, that uppercut caused the "twisting" concussion I mentioned earlier
    2) Grant was already on ***** street
    3) Grant's chin is garbage no matter what punch is thrown.

    Mercer vs Damiani:
The uppercut broke Damiani's nose, and that's why he was stopped. It wasn't like he was knocked unconscious by an uppercut.

Abraham vs Gevor is an example of a world class fighter landing a shot on a sub-world class fighter. World class fighters have been known to KO lesser fighters with jabs. Does that meant the jab is a KO punch?

And yet nearly 10% voted for Holyfield. Now I wonder which nationality they are??

Who says Holyfield is either kidding or a blind nutgater. There is no way Evander won the fight. that was one of the worst decisions ever in boxing.

Are you trying to say that fighters can't be knocked out by uppercuts or something?

    What exactly is your point?

Can't you read? I already made my point. It's right there.

I'll dumb it down for you - the point is that although it was a great punch in that gif, it's not all that amazing that Evander didn't go down from it.

I didn't say that fighters can't be KOd with an uppercut. In fact if you learn to read you'll see all I said was that it was not common.

I'm totally shocked that anyone voted for Holyfield!!

I have to assume that these are joke / Troll votes.

Lennox won by at least 3 to 4 rounds, end of story. I remember being outraged at the time. Must have been fixed!
This was a real black-eye for boxing. Probably cost boxing thousands of casual PPV purchasing fans.
