Who would win, with both in their primes?
I'd go with Lewis on this one.

Lewis dismantles him to a TKO victory in the mid rounds if Foreman can't blow him out in the first 6 rounds, imo.

I think Lewis should be favored by virtue of having a far more complete all around package of skills and physical attributes, so a one sided win for Lewis is not out of the question. On the otherhand, if Foreman is given even the slightest opportunity to land flush at the right time, it could also result in an early KO win for big George. I guess it all comes down to what kind of a fight Lewis chooses to engage in, and weather or not Foreman is ready to make the best of whatever opportunities come to him...

Lewis is more suseptible to being outboxed than outbrawled imo which isn't going to happen here.

My bet would be Lewis early in a wild fight. Either could win, but Lewis's edge in height and straighter shots seal the deal.

Lewis stops Foreman... he almost matches him in every category except strength and punching power.. even then, Lewis hit very hard in his own right, and had a terrific left jab and a longer reach.. George's best shot is to bullrush Lewis Briggs style.. And hope that Lewis gets caught

I still put my money on Lewis though, much smarter fighter and more balenced

Plus with George's stamina he's not going to last the distance with Lewis's kind of punching

I want to pick George, maybe he would be outboxed like Dino Dennis was doing until George brought home a short left hook on the ropes bringing it to a end, but I can't quite do it. Lewis tko 11.

I think Lewis takes him out early after finding it really easy to nail him with right crosses.

well lewis was the far better boxer but hadn't the greatest chin in history.. and i think the foreman that destroyed joe frazier would KO lewis inside 3 rounds.

Overall, I think the advantage goes to Lewis....

Sure, Foreman has a fair chance in the early rounds, but the longer the fight goes the more Lewis' superior boxing skills will give him the upper hand

So if you say Lewis has a shaky chin - then it is irrellevent how hard Foreman hits - Lewis should have lost to everyone who had a hard punch.....Well fact is he didnt - He beat and outboxed fighters with massive punches who were more skillfull than Foreman-
So Lewis V Foreman, Lewis must be highly favoured and Foreman will have the proverbial punchers chance

yeah but what kind of comparison is that

Lewis didn't take McCall or Rahman very seriously in their first fights IMO. So he got caught and knocked out.
Simple as that... If he takes George seriously though it won't happen..

To be fair, it was only Rahman who he didn't take serious. McCall along with Steward simply saw a flaw in the then green Lewis and took advantage.

I just don't like Foreman's defense against guys his height or taller and physically strong. His defense in his first career was pretty much pushing the guy or extending his arms, which is ok against sub 6 footers like Frazier who are easy to push back and can't hit you when they are, but quite another story against big guys.

What makes you think that? What are your reasons?
