Toss in Lewis' fights with Ruddock, Morrison and Briggs.

Lewis is not only top 3 HW ATG, he is also one of the best finisher.

If only he trained hard for some of his fights he should've been undefeated and there'd be no need for rematches.

he was trained and ready for mccall, he just got brutally KTFO. if he'd have beaten mccall he may never have teamed up with manny and become the dominating fighter that we saw later in his career.

rahman, yeah he was undertrained, but it was still his fault.

But he didn't. He was up by the count of 6. If the ref had continued to count up to 8, then done the usual "Are you okay" and asked him to hold his gloves up, it is possible that he could have hung on until the end of the round. As the champion he should have been given that chance but he wasn't.

In reality he would probably have been stopped but who knows? And teaming up with Manny was a positive to come from it.

Rahman was totally his fault and he should truly regret that. Overweight, untrained and not even in the country in time to acclimatise....so stupid. Had he prepared and given a Rahman II performance then the one loss to McCall when he was up by 6 would be far less of a talking point and he would have far fewer doubters.

I was in Ballys a few years ago the same week Moorer fought Holyfield the second time. The main event was Mike Grant v J L Gonzales. I was talking to Razor Ruddocks part time trainer Art Miles and he addressed why Grant isn't the man to beat Bowe or Lewis.. He said " for big men Grant and the likes of Akinwande have a big flaw it is their legs and the way they are just that little bit too big to move correctly.. Grant could only move one way with 100% co ordination and the same could be said of a few more.. Lewis on the other hand is the only exception to the rule.. Lewis was like a middleweight when he moved he was so fluid.. Many years after Grant lost to Lewis then showed his footwork flaws majorly when he faced Jameel McCline in Vegas.. McCline caught him cold with a right hand and Mike G fell with his long spindly legs underneith him, busting an ancle.. amazingly Mccline did the same years later against a larger man (Valuev) Lennox was always the exception to most rules.. Fast hands and a good ability to fight close in when he had to (v Grant) I think we all look back and see LL as a better fighter now he has retired, we had it too good.. Lewis was by no means boring...
