Why would it not. Aj is a conventional fighter so Vitali's extremely unorthodox style would give his issues. And it worked his entire career. Vitali ised his height well and also had underrated head movement and an extremely underrated gas tank.
Never pull back from a shot, if I fighter works that out they can follow your head as it move back and there will be nowhere left for the head to move as the straight comes.
Realistically, what would have happened had the fight continued? Lewis would have shredded Vitali's face open even more and possibly KO'd him with a shot that Vitali would not have seen coming. The momentum was shifting big time.
Never say never. Much like many things in boxing it's never that simple, rules can be broken when one's skill level is high enough. For example boxers like Mayweather and RJJ often specifically dropped guard leaned forward to draw a lead and leaned straight back to be perfectly balanced to counter. Vitali too utilised this skill but was less effective in doing so.
The punch that caused the cut changed the momentum. Fact is Lewis did something to change the fight, Vitali wasn't just suddenly cut. Lewis started stepping in with his jab and disrupting Vitali's boxing and much like how Fury's jab set up his right hand to drop Wilder, Lewis used his jab to set up the multiple right hands he landed on Vitali which opened numerous cuts. The Kronk style is all about utilising the left hand to set up the right and that's what happened in the 3rd round vs Vitali. Lewis changed the fight through skill not luck.
Far from being implausible, it's a likelihood that Lewis goes 10-0 against that group. The vague punchers' chances notwithstanding, the only joker in the deck, who could make a fight of it, is Fury. As an aside, the version of Povetkin we see today gets absolutely stomped and Joshua doesn't last long, either.
Yes and going into round 6 both men were out of gas, I doubt Vitaly could stop Lewis within the next 2 rounds like the fanboys claim, Lewis has taken his best shots without going down and Vitaly ate some good punches too, the uppercut he took in round 5 could have decapitated many heavyweights. The fact is, Vitaly got one chance and failed to pull it off, AJ was in the exact situation against Wladimir but he succeeded, that's the difference.
Thats what made Vitali so awkward. He was extremely unorthodox but used it well. Obviously you're not supposed to do things like that, neither are you supposed to cross your legs but it worked for him his whole career
Okey, you might call me Vitali fan boy and with this I do have lesser rights here. Lewis for me had 1 alone belt and this is DUCK belt, I might award him also Glass Chin belt and Cash Cow Belt. Go to the hell with Lewis, his belts, legacy and other ****. Lewis struggled with old Holy over the hill and old Mike over the hill and also with late replacement in Vitaly. He milked this win and retired, go to hell british boxing fans and Lewis and post till death about DUCK QUA QUA greatness. Lewis fights vs Holy and Tyson really had proved that he was average boxer and he was average also vs Vitali. DUCK QUA QUA.
1. Vitaly the heavyweight destroyer couldn't put down Glass Chin Lewis for 6 rounds, lol. 2. Did you watch any of those fights? Lewis dominate both of his fights with Holy, the draw is a farce, the Tyson fight he whooped Mike ass from the start to finish. I really begin to suspect you're talking out of your ass on this matter. 3. Lewis struggled against Vitaly is expected, he is the past prime old champion and Vitaly is the young challenger destined to take his place, that's the narrative. The fact that Vitaly failed speaks more about him, not Lewis. 4. Lewis doesn't own anybody, not Vitaly, not you, a rematch. He gave Vitaly a chance to greatness and he failed, end of story.
