I loved them old fights. The soft mod fighters of today wouldn’t have cut it back in then.

Real men fighting as if their lives depended on it...well, yeah, okay, their lives did actually depend on it. Terrific motivator nonetheless.

Could you imagine the PPV numbers and takings if they had the tech back then? Huge.

My favourite part was giving the thumbs down.

Any marshmallows who voted for mercy, well, we the majority, just beat them up also.

Great day out for the whole family.

Toonder only happens when it’s raining. (With apologies to Stevie Nicks.)

To steal from Lady Diana famous quote, when there are three involved (Cleve is always @swagdelfadeel plus one) it gets a bit crowded.

@Ney will find this out for himself soon enough.

...Players only love you when they’re playing

My man Ingo was a PUL-LAYER.

During his first fight against Cooper, Ali might’ve ogled Cleopatra but my man Ingo BONKED her.

Ingo was the GOAT in the bedroom also.

Bobi was the world's oldest known dog, dying late last year, in Portugal, at the age of 31 and a half. Was Bobi better than most of us here on the board? Sure...Sure, he was. Better than me? Obviously. Better than Journey and Pug? Maybe. Better than Eslubin? Listen, I don't know the answer to that. But we can all at least agree that Eslubin and Bobi, at worst, have been reunited, and are making videos for us when we go that way.

Gladiators were very valuable and they didn't often fight to the death. They were celebrities and crowd favorites, sort of like WWE stars.

It's a great comparison to boxing too, come to think of it.

Lewis in the first or second round. Once again, at gigantic modern, talented superheavyweight vs a small cruiserweight. Johansson was intertaining and could punch, but he was no Holyfield in terms of durability, speed and talent.

It’s interesting that you should mention all this.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but Bobi was stripped of his title, which has now reverted back to Bluey, an Australian female cattle dog (Oi, Oi, Oi!).

Reminds me of a cattle dog I knew. I said to her 'How many cattle are in that field?'

    She said '97'

I said 'Go on. Round 'em up then,'

She said 'Okay, there's a hundred.'

Oh, a piece of information from vets that they used to debunk the dog's age is that 31 would be like real, real old... That is part of how these Holmsemian figures disproved a world's oldest record-by finding out that it would be real old if someone lived that long. The diligence!

So that they could reinstate a dog who lived, wait for it...just two less years. To 29 instead? An Australian dog, no less... 31 is impossible, man, 29 is the number! We're like sciencers of the biologies, dude! Did you even listen to this utter nonsense? No, they had nothing on Bobi, I'm sorry, Pug. I honestly don't know if you are Australian or just this stupid by some other means. This "journalist" brought in to be the expert doesn't even get Bluey's timeline right, claiming he was born in the year he actually died. The amount of utter moronic garbage they can pack into one clip. Hey, guys, if Steve Martin gets his hair dyed brown for My Blue Heaven, it clearly means he faked his age! I think you're going to have to do better detective work next time, Pug. But thank you for the laugh.

He was rumoured to have had a dalliance with Liz, among some other female celebrities of the day who apparently took a shining to him.

He was viewed as a causal playboy, more enamoured of the ladies than training, so very possible they pushed a few “not so true” rumours to expand upon the theme.

But then again, Liz wasn’t adverse to banging the less likely suspects. :D

Was Dinah Shore another purported conquest? Maybe, I can’t recall.

She definitely appeared to like hearing Ingo warble a tune in his native tongue.

    :lol::lol::lol:

Throwing shade on us Aussies? Who’s “we” btw, Boxed? Yanks?:lol::lol: <kidding>.

The crux point was that it wasn’t the same
damn dog as in the old photo. The smoking gun(s)? - the white paws. Pause on that.

Guinness has clearly fallen off their game. They were so much more stringent back in the day - Bluey was verified every which way - including an autopsy.

Sure, there were comments that he looked more like a young chihuahua when a circa 1910 photo of him was produced. But that paltry piece of “evidence”’was treated with the contempt that it deserved.

As to my gal Courtney. There has clearly been AI audio intervention in an attempt to discredit her. As it so happens , I can read lips (among many other crazy talents) - ignore the audio overlay, she clearly mouthed “died in 1939” -

If you don’t believe me, that same video is going around with Courtney “apparently” calling out John Fury for a fight. There are too many lunatics in this world.

Also (somebody stop me) it’s a well known that dogs age exponentially - that’s not just 2 years we’re talking about - though highest on the spectrum, Bluey’s 29 is more than acceptable.

I feel sorry for poor Bobi. He wasn’t the scammer, it was his owners. May the little fella rest in piece.

Stricter penalties should be in place for such fraudulence committed by attention seeking owners - a bit of jail time even. People who lie about dog’s ages are viewed very dimly by fellow inmates.

But enough, let’s honour Bluey, the Dinky-Di record holder of the World Title for Longest Living Dog (EVER). The photo below is for others, I can’t look. It always brings a tear to my eye.

Don't laugh. We as a group like to dismiss Johansson's ability as a fighter. He always loses our theoretical matches. Yes, he doesn't look balanced when he fights inside or when he tries to throw combinations. His jab appears to be a mere annoyance. He trains on lingonberry tortes and poontang. But it's no fluke that he knocked out Patterson, Machen and most of the top fighters of Europe and England. That "Toonder and Lightning" right cross was no joke. It could put anyone to sleep -- including Mr. Lewis.
