I rate Ingemar over McCall and Rahman. If he wins the first he either cries in the rematch or gets ktfo. To answer your question yes but very unlikely. Lewis would have to overlook him like he did guys above. Lewis was a great fighter with a flaw called arrogance.

Johannson was never a great fighter, and he has a very thin resume.

Ingo was a good banger but with both fighters knowing a bit about each other - Lennox used the jab until he fires the right hand & end it- could be any time from round 1 on - but should be over before 5

If Ingo landed his Sunday punch against an unmotivated Lennox then maybe, whatever

Prime Lewis dismantles and decapitates him

Be assured that this hypothetical affair would not feature the lazy, lax, arrogant LL who got twice starched by inferior opponents, but rather, he would be fully aware of the only potential danger facing him...namely Ingo's Bingo, and would revert to his best "A" game...and the fight would be a cross between Lewis-Golota and Lewis-Ruddock....and Ingo would be better off if he just stayed in Sweden. My guess is that Lewis would start slowly, then flip a switch midway through the 1st, and land a big right of his own...hurting Ingo...then he would pour it on the Swede and nearly behead him with a follow up right...suspending Ingo halfway over the bottom ropes...out cold...

I'm afraid that Ingo wouldn't do much better than Scarlett would.

Ingo could beat opponents who have a history with a glass jaw, because of his right hand, as he called it, Toonder and Lightning. The correct spelling is Thunder and Lightning as we know. He would have to get close to Lewis first, which may not happen. He put Eddie Machen to sleep on Sept 14 1958, in round 1. He also did the same to Floyd Patterson, on June 26 1959. He has a fair chance against pre Stewart Lewis, but no chance, with Lennox Lewis, with Srewart, KO2, better defense, not to get caught like against Hassim Rahman, and Oliver McCall.

I don't think Ingo can get his feet to the place they would have to be to land the right hand of his.

And the trajectory would have to be different and punching up and not down or straight. Ingo's defense and ability to absorb punches would not get him to that small area where he could launch and he'd get starched quickly trying to find it.

Ingo required multiple right hands to stop both Machen and Patterson,Lewis would only need one to ko him.
