Next to Ali, Lewis may be the most difficult head to head for any heavyweight to face.

Dempsey is quick enough to get inside and land on Lewis.

Lewis will get pulverized. Not an entirely easy match up for Dempsey, but I would favor him greatly.

    IS this prime Dempsey?

Because in many ways he fought like Tyson, many also think Tyson in his prime would defeat Lewis. I see Demspey as almost as fast, hits as hard, quicker on his feet and able to fight inside better. So, Dempsey is a great foil for tall outside boxer punchers.

Dempsey destroys the myth of the modern super heavyweight!

I mean like 60/40 he does that!

Dempsey would only need one left hook, to destroy your entire belief system.

He might well have that left hook!

Lewis's issue was the right hand. McCall, Rahman took him out with it and Bruno, Mercer gave him tough tough fights. Some ppl feel Mercer deserved the win. Dempsey was hooker, I'm not sure despite his track record of destroying taller men that Lewis would fall into that trap.
Of footage we have of Dempsey we see him hurt by Carpentier's straight right, dropped by Tunney's, just those two examples of men smaller than Lewis that don't punch nearly as hard troubled jack with the straight right. Lewis best punch (or second best punch to his uppercut). I think styles wise I have to favor Lewis. Of course Prime Jack could blitz Lewis but I feel Lewis was a shade better than the guys Jack belted out. If the figtht goes past 2 rounds I give heavy edge to Lewis.

The same could be said about Butterbean, but he like Dempsey would not land it against a prepared and prime Lewis.

Can we agree, that Dempsey could annihilate the super heavyweight legend, with one punch?

How much credibility would it have, if he iced Lewis?

Theoretically yes, but if everyone who stepped in the ring could have done it, they would have. And that includes some pretty heavy punchers, such as Tyson, Tua, Ruddock, and many others.

How would Lewis have done against Tunney, Sharkey, 37 year old Inactive Willard, Firpo, Fulton, 32 year old Gibbons, Brights Disease Miske, Brennan, Carpentier, Meehan, Lester Johnson, Flynn, levinskey?

Better than most I would agree, but I would hazard a guess that anyone who picked Tyson to beat Lewis did so with the exact same thoughts as this. I would venture to say the same about those who picked Tua.
