    You claimed Dempsey was As good a finisher as anyone

    I think that's outrageous he is nowhere near Joe Louis as a puncher or finisher

    I made the Rocky threads to highlight the hyperbolic mythology that surrounds him and the plain fact of the matter is he doesn't need fantasy tales spun about him he was a great fighter.All
    the exaggerated spin and BS about," you cant punch down on him and he would crush guys 50lbs heavier and over half a foot taller with one punch " is just hero fan boyism to me. But it can be diverting on a slow night,:good

    Don Steele was a pretty good finisher too. Wonder what he might have done had a 37 year old, 3 year retired jess Willard willingly stood in front of him with his hands down below his waste.

    It is great to know that Dempsey's legacy goes down every year

    Most fans current historians and experts great Rocky higher and that won't change Rockies legacy gets better with age well Dempsey's gets worse

    Trust me I'll be here 50 years from now still educating the younger generations about how overrated Jack Dempsey was.

    Dempsey's legacy will continue to fizzle away. Marcianos won't.

    I think it's hilarious that people think 185 pound Dempsey can beat all the skilled powerful superheavyweights because he beat a few clumsy talentless Big oafs


    Marciano would have had a field day with those big punching bags. Same with any other good 185lber

    Who knows. Maybe a year or two from now you will start a "I have been underrating Jack Dempsey, I am moving him up my top 20 HW ATG list" thread, as you have often done with other fighters. :D

    ... like anyone here gives a f**k about your lists.

    You will be nothing but dust and bones under the earth while I am still posting about Jack Dempsey on this forum.

    Unless we find hidden evidence Dempsey fought and beat wills and Greb, my opinion won't change

    Louis was on par with Dempsey as a puncher. Fleischer stated in fact he felt Dempsey hit harder.

    Over time all sports legends fade. Rocky will. Ali will. There will be dumbos like some posting on here 30 years from now that will make similar ignorant remarks regarding Ali. In all cases they are and will be ......wrong.
