I've emphasised the important part for you here Yes - Dempsey is the best attacking infighter in the divisions history. Johnson aside, Lewis is his defensive counterpart. I hate to do it but I have to lean towards the man with the huge weight/strength advantage. If Jack is rabbit punching and happy with this as the pay off for the energy Lewis is sapping, God help him.
I like Strike too. But I'm pretty shocked to hear you provide such open approval for a post that includes a line calling Dempsey a "pub fighter".
John, i'm not just blowing smoke up your arse hole when I say; a poster as good as you are shouldn't be saying "Dempsey was too small, Dempsey was too small, Dempsey was too small". The first line in this post that i've quoted is the one that interests me and you are more than capable of making an excellent argument. Not being disengenuos or anything. But this size thing is bull****. As an excluding factor. You'll see in my posts that I see Dempsey as, basically too small to be made favourite over Lewis. But that is because of multiple factors. It might not be true of Bowe for example (although it might).
That big Ukranian geezer aside, I agree. EDIT: Chagaev would be an interesting fight, althogh Dempsey would win.
If you think Dempsey was a pub fighter then you must have a verry low opinion of offensive fighters generaly.
I will presume it based upon what I know about fighters. I don't insist that I am the final word in these matters but I do insist that I have a reasonabley even-handed approach, no reason to run down Firpo or Dempsey and I feel my posts in this thread support this.
