Yes Joe Walcott could theoreticaly beat Bob Foster.

He beat all the best 175 pounders of his own era and some of the best guys above that.

    Im not talking theory.
Because walker went the distance with a heavyweight does this mean he could be competitive in a good heavyweight division?

It was a good heavyweight division.

Walker did a lot more than go the distance with a heavyweight. He beat a few ranked heavyweights.

But walker lost some fights at middle and lt heavy,no? Thats my point, beating a heavy doesnt mean you cant lose to a lighter man...Just ask roy jones......

Theoretical probability, surely?! I mean it's not like our discussions about Walcott-Foster are about to be validated in an event, is it?

    Sure.

I could name some fighters who did much better when they steped up.

The punches were easier to see coming and the boxing skills were less.

In reality it would be more competitive than you think.

Well, monzon has many skills as a middle that you wont see in some heavies, great workrate for one....
And talking carlos, theoretically he could be sucessful at lt heavy and maybe even cruiser....(probably super heavy with your similar reasoning.)

Pound for pound means for his size. Unless you think Mayweather can beat Klitschko

Why Peter? He is not even the #1 heavyweight.

But yes, i'd be more interested in Peter's next fight than Mayweather vs DLH II :dead

    Who cares about height?

Why do you think we have weight classes, not height classes. The point is that almost all of history's best punchers were over 200lbs.
