Look at what Sharkey did to Tommy Loughran, then look at all of the people who Loughran fought.

Sharkey does have a low KO%, but he also has a disproportionately number of fights against elite opponents.

Yeah, knocking out 186½ lbs Loughran is an awe inspiring result - as is his DRAW(!) with tiny Mickey Walker. Results like that would surely give Lewis sleepless nights!

    World of janitor :nut:

Btw, we are still waiting for the re-evaluation on Primo Carnera.

Do you give somebody more credit for stopping a fighter with a good chin, or for stopping a big fighter regardless of their chin?

Presumably if somebody in Lewis's era stopped Chris Byrd or James Toney you would take notice?

    It will happen eventually.

It is only a question of when.

I can't believe that you're saying that Lennox Lewis was better than Primo Carnera!!! I'm shocked!!! Shocked and appalled!

Beating someone who was a better all-around fighter than Riddick Bowe… yes, that was pretty impressive!

Sharkey beat every size, shape, and style of fighter imaginable.

He beat boxers, he beat punchers, he beat small slicksters, and he beat superheavyweights.

He was emotionally unstable and inconsistent, but he could give anybody hell!

Now I am not arguing for him to be the favorite here.

I have been very clear in saying that Lewis should be the favorite.

I just ask you to consider, that this might not be the domination that you are assuming!

I am assuming that Lewis would have little trouble with Sharkey. Would he stop him inside 2 rounds? No one knows, and maybe he wouldn't… but if he really wanted to, I don't believe such a result is unrealistic.
