Lewis by shutout. The fight is about as competitive as if you drained Lewis down to 168 and made the fight at smw.
7 inches taller. 12 inches longer in reach, and a stronger man as well. Lewis wins this one comfortably.
If we are talking about a focused and in shape Toney, Lewis is in trouble. Can't you picture lennox just lumbering around the ring trying to load up for bear, and watching Toney do a masterful shoulder roll and countering the big oaf....Then when down on the cards and trying desperately lennox goes all out, while Toney is virtually unhittable in his vaunted Philly-Shell defense....Lennox punches himself into exhaustion by clubbing air with every errant throw...An exhausted Lennox gets knocked down late in the 10th....and is immediately dropped in the 11th...Sorry folks but it's lights out!
Lewis easily ! Would n't even be competitive. Toney was one of the best MIDDLEWEIGHTS of modern times, but what signifigant heavyweight did he ever beat ?
I agree with you in principal, and I think Lewis beats Toney. But Toney did beat Holyfield, even if Holly was about 40 at the time. [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nh9C1kNbu3c[/ame]
lewis would be able to jab toney's shoulder into agony and had the size to throw the right over the top of the roll. he wouldn't hit clean every time, and toney would have moments, but lewis' power would take it's toll. toney would be reduced to the occasional uppercut trying to catch lewis coming in. he'd lose the jabbing contest and his philly shell is all that would keep him til the final bell
How does no one else see this! Toney all day, all night and twice on Sundays. The only way Lewis could win would be to learn the Pittsburgh Hook which is impossibly effective against the Philly Shell. Its a rock paper scissors thing.
C'mon you know most of the fanboys on here are 16 y/o's and just regurgitate, recycle and reword the same drivel thinking that being the majority gives value to thier meaningless lives.... To quote "All Along The watchtower"- But you and I we have been through that, and that is not our fate. So let us not talk falsely now the hour is getting late. I am not sure if you believe the 2nd part of your post (Rubbish!) or if you just have this deep need to torment me...Haven't my people (Philadelphians) suffered enough!
We don't know how Toney would have handled the giants such as Lewis. The biggest men Toney fought were 6'3, and he handled them really well. Of course, they were not anywhere near Lewis' caliber, nor did they have similar styles, but it was still impressive how Toney took care of them. Toney walked down undefeated Rydell Booker, dominated him and put him down. It was a fine performance and a lot of brutal uppercutts were landed that night. Booker never fought again. Toney also dominated Guinn in an inside fight.
[ame]http://youtube.com/watch?v=hcRXN66zNGQ[/ame] Carter uses it well. I... Apologize. I've been too hard on Philly. You are right. This is my apology.
