Frazier went down all those times when he was past his best. At that particular time Frazier was a seriously flawed fighter. he could do nothing to prevent Foreman from beating him down. He was defenceless against that type of opponent at that time of his career. Frazier represented no more challenge to George than multiple cans he beat on the way to the title. It would not have been so during Fraziers 1968-71 peak. Forget Foreman. It did not happen to prime Frazier.

Prime Lewis? McCall. Rahman. No decline was responsible for those knockout defeats.

It was Frazier who kept going back into Foreman's punching range. If Lewis fought like that, he wouldn't make it past the first knockdown.

Yes you meant the prime frazier who got dropped twice and hurt by oscar bonavena right? ( or maybe the excuse will be "this frazier was pre prime"?). The smaller lighter 69-71 frazier would have even more problems,he was pressuring more time( suicide against foreman) he was smaller and easier to push back

Are you really going to tell me, that Frazier was prime in 1966? :huh That is so ridiculously biased, I don't even know what to say.

The prime Frazier wouldn't have been hit nearly as much, he was faster, he was much harder to hit, he wouldn't fight Foreman the way he did. I don't think Yancey would've let Foreman get away with that shoving ****?

    12 fight Frazier?

Why would Frazier have more problems landing punches when he was so razor sharp?

Can you at least acknowledge that Lewis lost focus each time he could not control the tempo, that both of Lennox Lewis' knockout defeats occurred without the onset of any decline?

Can you acknowledge that prime Frazier beat an 82" reach to the punch?

To push him back Lewis has to put his hands on Frazier. Won't Joe, if at his best he could beat Ali to the punch, hit Lewis before he reaches out to shove him back?

Frazier just knew a single way to fight.. Toe to toe inside game pressuring .. Period .the speed is irrelevant because he has to get inside of george and he is an easy target by monster heavy shots . if thebspeed was that relevant in this stylistical match then i would give tyson big chance vs foreman but i dont see it being a big factor from the close distance.
PLUS YOU ARE TALKING LIKE IF FRAZIER WAS WORLDS FASTER IN 1971 IT SIMPLY IS NOT TRUTH

why does it have to improve? no shame in getting off the floor to win. when did lewis do this?
frazier had his chin tested by Quarry, Chuvalo, Ellis, that big south american whos name escapes me just now. these guys all caused firm knockouts and knockdowns at world level.

Well.. I have no problem with frazier he was a ****ing gladiator,my point is that bonavena could hurt any versión of Joe,so its irrelevant that they fought in 1966.

a chin stays the same that is corect. as a fighter improves from his 12 fight status he learns to adjust to the better levels, he develops his anticipation for the faster more instictive fighters who are good enough to hit back. so later on that punch that earlier stunned a fighter may have much of its sting riden out of it.

two things. the first is lewis reached this stage and still got knocked out by fighters who punched no greater than bonavena. the second thing is frazier reached this stage before he met foreman too. the difference of course is that frazier had lost his ability to judge distance.

So let's see if I understand this correctly Frazier gets a pass because he's deemed to have been past prime, when he fought Foreman twice, even though he was holding a title one of those times, and was only 32 the second time he fought Foreman, and yet Lewis was 36 when he was KO'd by Rahman and unlike Frazier brutally stopped Rahman in the rematch.

Is that your position on this, cause if it is, it's border line pathetic.

Besides I thought the requirement on these mythical match ups was to assume both fighters were at their prime and fighting at their best. Instead you're picking Lewis' worst fights and then giving Joe a pass on his worse fights, which is why you're in the clear minority on this.

Perhaps but intelligence has always been an important part of boxing. If Frazier was stupid enough to try fighting to his opponents strengths he deserved to have been KO's. Lewis never do that unless he absolutely had to, but he doesn't have to, his superior reach would ensure that. Also Lewis has way more power than Frazier has, it's not even close. Lewis' power might no be quite on par with Foreman's, but it's not far off.

Considering that any fighter can get knocked out with a punch he doesn't see coming this more assuredly is incorrect.

Frazier didn't know any other way to fight.
Lewis wasn't that limited, he could win a fight behind his jab or take the fight to his opponent his stature gave him options.
And,PULEEZE don't tell me Frazier was doing okay in the second Foreman fight, because he won nothing!

If Lennox properly uses his physical advantages, he'll win a decision. If he boneheadedly tries to trade from the first bell, he would be brutually stopped. I think Lewis would fight smart, knowing Frazzier is very dangerous. Lewis by UD.
