is this a troll thread? byrd I can understand because he was high ranked for the main part of lewis's reign but ruiz didn't become a legitimate opponent until he'd already been given the belt and shared a trio with holyfield, but of course he then lost to the lhw king. ruiz causes lewis no problems, he was just never on that level. Even in the transition period of vitali he was still never higher than 3rd ranked.
Ruiz gave the quicker Holyfield all kinds of hell but he poses no problems with Lewis? Cmon.. Be real. Noone besides Tua blew out Ruiz, and Ruiz was really a different kind of fighter when he faced Tua. He tried to fight like Tyson and swarm his opponents. After getting smashed by Tua he changed his style to the three headed monster.
I'm sure at one point you was a good poster, this avy change has done bad for you imo nono go back to your old avy and draw a line in the sande, we'll forgive you.
LH31 is an excellent poster on anything none Lewis/Bowe, he's a bit of a Tyson apologist too but has good insight. He is also none other than Kevin Rooney, no ****, this may mean he knows his whisky given his alcohol/gambling problems LUFC is that Yeboah in your avi?
Holyfield was shot when he fought both Lewis and Ruiz. The only difference is that Lewis dominated Evander in both of their fights, whereas Ruiz fought him to a standstill in a trilogy. John had neither the power nor the skill to trouble Lewis, and would do little more than applying his survival techniques to hang in there throughout a very dull, one sided beat down over 10-12 rounds.
Ruiz probably has little chance in a fight with Lewis, but he doesnt get beat one sidedly like so many people think. After the Tua fight Ruiz changed his style to a very ugly but effective one. Lewis was not the quickest fighter, and like Evander Holyfield, Hasim Rahman, Andrew Golota a few others found out, Ruiz was difficult to hit. Speedsters like Toney and Jones Jr could nail him, but the bigger lumbering guys like Lewis had a tough time. Lewis doesnt easily one sidedly beat Ruiz. Styles make fights, and Ruiz had the style to make Lewis look bad, regardless of the outcome...
Ruiz put Evander Holyfield on his ass, something very few fighters were able to accomplish including Lewis.
much better :good Ruiz has the style to make everyone look bad. that being said, he did lose the last fight to holyfield who then lost to byrd so byrd was rightfully higher than ruiz imo. however ruiz looked better against fres. it's a shame these two never fought each other so a real contneder other than tyson and a klitschko could emerge.
Bert Cooper put Holyfield " on his ass " a full 10 years earlier than Ruiz did it, and during a time when Holy was prime. So what's your point?
The point is Lewis wasn't as impregnable as you think. Holyfield was fighting a different fight than he was against Cooper anyways, he wasnt fighting a sloppy fight and was generally confused by John's style.
And what does Ruiz flooring an aged Holyfield have to do with Lewis being pregnable or impregnable? Frankly, I don't see where this example proves anything. Perhaps, but the other difference asside from what type of match he was fighting, was that he was 10 years older against Ruiz than he was against Cooper and thoroughly passed it, yet John still did not look as good against him as Lewis did. I really don't understand where you're going with any of this.
