The point is Holyfield was rarely dropped. Ruiz had a quick righthand that found the mark. The righthand was what Lennox Lewis was most susceptible to his entire career. If he caught old Holyfield with it, he could have just as easily caught Lewis and put him down, something you seem to completely rule out when you write: and BTW No he didnt. He beat him but he didnt dominate him.
Flooring an aged fighter is different than flooring a prime one, and Ruiz was not a hitter that I'd pick to be a threat to Lewis. In addition, I'd like to see how many rounds you actually gave to Holyfield in their combined two fights, because frankly he got owned.
I dont remember Holyfield being floored like that again, do you? Especially so close to such a high profile fight against Lewis. Toney dropped him, but he was a mess in that fight.
Ruiz-Golota 1. 10-9 2. 7-10 3. 9-10 4. 8-10 5. 10-9 6. 9-10 7. 10-9 8. 10-9 9. 10-9 10. 10-9 11. 10-10 (Swing round, both fighters hurt each other with one good punch lol, could have went either way) 12. 10-9 Overall 113-113
Nice job at avoiding my response. In any case, Lewis couldn't floor holyfield, but won more rounds in two fights than Ruiz did in three, and was facing a slightly younger Holyfield. Evander beat Ruiz, wheras he could not beat Lewis. End of story..... Have a good night.
ruiz would lay out lewis ffs yall are daft ****s!!! why do u think lewis ducked him for so long cuz hes a scared limey *******
After being labeled "John Louise" by Lennox Lewis, Ruiz didn't even have the wit to call him "Lennox Louise" back. Instead, he called him "that girl".
mate trash talk has got **** all to do with fightin ya daft **** go educate yerself on the matter ffs ruiz was way superior like hes top 5 all time lewis isnt even top 25 ffs
Read my prior post. That's my view. I dont need to give you a scorecard. Do you carry your scorecards in your pocket? The fights were competitive especially the second but really one has nothing to do with the other. Styles make fights and Ruiz as I said was quick and awkward there is no guarantee Lewis just blows him out, he was too slow.
I like and respect Ruiz, but he wouldn't have stood a chance against Lewis. This would be a brutal wreckage. Lewis gets the job done anywhere between the second and eighth rounds. Ruiz didn't have the punch to hold Lewis off. He didn't have the slick defensive tools needed to elude Lewis's offensive. The holding/wrestling routine wouldn't have worked for Ruiz either, because Lewis was much stronger. Just a question here of how long Ruiz could avoid being KO'd. Nothing more.
I'm not quite sure whether Lewis purposely ducked Ruiz, as Grant was considered a tougher opponent at that time and Lewis had never knowingly ducked anyone prior so i tend not to agree with that theory....Ruiz gave an ageing Holyfield fits, one who was clearly showing signs of wear and tear when those fights were made, Holy 90/93 would have dealt with Ruiz with relative ease, probably stopping him during the middle rounds or winningly a unanimous decision. Lewis/Ruiz i suspect would have been fairly one sided, Ruiz would have spoiled and mauled for a round or two but not for long, providing Lewis was on it ,he knocks out a game Ruiz inside 6 rounds, similar to Morrison.
