    True,

the way Holmes was spinning it was as if Lewis basically straight up ducked him.

Im sure there is an article of it out there somewhere. Ill try and find it when i get home.

I liked Larry Holmes as a fighter. But a lot of what he said in interviews came off as bull**** driven by bitterness.

Just saw most of holmes fights. I have to say the guy has been in tremendous wars and has shown the ability to recover from bad situations. His handspeed and combinations are also better than Lewis let alone his Jab. The only plus point Lewis has is 20 more lbs and more power but that's about it. Odds are in favor of Larry here.

Lets not forget that Lewis got outjabbed by Ray Mercer, who also gave him a really tough fight. In a battle of jabs, there is no contest... And the jab is a key weapon in this fight...

The jab is also the easiest punch to counter. A jab to the body is a natural counter punch and Lewis had a fairly good one that he can follow up with his right hand. He has enough hand speed and power to take advantage of Holmes' vulnerabilities. I think the fighter that deals better with their jab being taken away for periods is just as important as dicatating with the jab. Lewis' advantage in power makes him more dangerous when they're trading blows, but Holmes was hard as nails! That's why this one is a such a tough one to call.

I don't know about this one. I guess I'll lean toward Holmes but I wouldn't bet more than a beer on it. Larry was dropped by good right hands and lewis had a good right hand plus good finishing skills if he had a man hurt. Shavers had Larry down but threw windmill rights in an attempt to finish him when Larry got up. Lewis wouldn't. Lennox was a good boxer and wouldn't throw wild punches if he hurt Larry. Plus Lennox was 6'5" with a long reach to back up his power and ability. Larry would have to keep moving and not give Lewis the oppurtunity to land his right. Holmes can't brawl with Lennox which he sometimes liked to do when tagged. He has to keep this a boxing match and use his advantage in speed. Holmes was a tough cookie but in his prime he never met an opponent that combined the size and ability of Lewis so he'd have to be careful. Tough one to call but I'll take Holmes...tonight anyway.

Lots of great posts !! Two great fighters,so I get that it,s a tough call. I like Holmes with his jab, speed, footwork and great ring savvy... But,LL is no easy fight for anyone !

    Hard fight to pick.

I think Holmes was overall the better fighter but Lewis at his best was a beast, cant really make a pick on this one and no result would surprise me , this could go either way and end in any type of way.

Lewis is bigger, stronger and just as skilled as Holmes. A good big man always beat a good smaller man... Lewis by decision

I feel Holmes is a more disciplined and patient boxer and more likely to stick to his gameplan whereas Lewis, while having similar skills loves falling back on his power, especially the right hand. Understandable since he had the size advantage as well as the edge in strength and power in just about every fight.

Holmes would box his way to a close and hard fought decision.
