Saw something that Lennox Lewis used to spar with Luis Ortiz. Who wins this fight prime for prime and how?
When Lewis was knockjng out grant and morrison in a few rounds, ortiz woule just be another big man early ko victim for lewis.
Prime for Prime? Ortiz easily, the Ortiz from when he was Mansa Musa's personal kingsguard smashes Lennox into submission
Ortiz didn't reach his prime until the age of 53 in 2017, so we will never know. And are we talking on or off heart meds?
He didn't. At the start of this century, members of the Cuban amateur boxing team didn't work as sparring partners to professional boxers. And Lennox Lewis didn't tend to fight southpaws, let alone spar with them.
Thinly-veiled anti-Wilder circlejerk thread. It's ironic because had this forum been around in the 90's many of the same people would have been saying that a post-Holyfield 1 Lewis had a "thin resume", a lack of courage/confidence and a suspect (soon to be glass, post-Rahman 1) chin. "Prime Foreman would go through Lewis in 2, just like he did Frazier and Norton" would be a very common sentiment. Would Lewis beat 2014/2015 Ortiz? Probably. But I don't see any southpaws on his record so who really knows how he would do against one of the best few ever, with more skill and power than the wide/massive underdogs who actually one-punch KO'd Lewis. Anyone with a speck of honesty knows that Ortiz would be a dangerous opponent for any fighter with near-zero southpaw experience and punch resistance problems.
