I used to think just like you, till I realized Mike Tyson is a household name in most of the world, twenty years after his best work...and mine still isn't. I respect anyone who becomes the best at what he does and have chosen to empathize with Mike. I wouldn't want the hand he was dealt for those all-important first years of life.

Tyson beats Lewis prime for prime, too skilled, too fast & hit just as hard.

Whether Lewis lasts the distance depends on which Lewis shows up IMO, Tyson`s stamina was excellent in his prime & he wasnt easy to catch, Id bet big on this one.

    :good

I'm the opposite. I wouldn't bet big on this either way, but if I were to bet, I wouldn't bet against Lewis. I've never actually bet on boxing, but I've predicted Lewis to win every fight he's fought and it's worked out pretty good. Nothing I've seen when they actually fought would lead me to think Lewis wouldn't win.

Suppose if I had Tyson's body and tools, and like Tyson, made it to the top. I sure as hell would not blow thsos millions away. I suppose I be a Gene Tunney or Rocky Marciano like Champion in regards to money.

Saved, invest, and dont blow it all on the cars, women, and drinks like Tyson did. You may blame Givens for Tyson being broke, I dont. Tyson still had his cash even after he divcorce her.

I would bet the mortgage on Lewis. He was the poison to Tyson, a tall, strong fighter with an excellent jab. The Tokyo Douglas was at best a b-level version of a prime Lewis and that fight had to be considered within Tyson's prime. I can hear the calls now, What about McCall, Rahman? But the topic says PRIME, not lazy or under-trained. In his over-hyped prime Tyson never fought anyone within shouting distance of Lewis' abilities.

i think tyson finds flaws in lewis beard early, and stops him after 6 rounds..lewis would have some success with his jab and cross, but tyson had a great chin in his prime......

and how the hell was that prime tyson vs dougls..he may well have been in his physical prime then, but not his ring prime..that lasted about ten minutes, but for the brief period he was in his all conquering, marauding, bobbing weaving hooking prime, he was a force of nature...( and i was a holyfield fan, but aint no biased nuthugger..)...

I believe this ISN'T a pick em fight yet competitive and explosive early on. Tyson was a maniacal murdering monster in his prime. It would be very difficult to pick Lennox in this one, even on his best day. Tyson KO 6.

tyson in 3 as soon as he landed flush lewis would have gone i just cant see lewis chin holding up against prime tyson .

  12. Well, my opinion is. Mike tyson was a great finisher,a killer puncher, aggressive,he got brutal combinations, great defense, his bobbing and weaving was simply perfect, this 20-22 years old kid with rooney in his corner was a devil , lennox lewis was a master , he was not ali, but he was very intelligent,he had skill, size, hitting power, decent hands speed for his size, but his weak point was his chin. He was hurt seriously by bruno, rahman, and mccall, the only hard hard puncher was bruno.so i think that tyson would finish him i the first fight, by ko or tko in 5 rounds. In the rematch lewis would fight smart , he would take tyson seriously and he would win by decision.(my opinion is exactly equal with foreman, george would ko lewis in the first fight and lewis would win by decision in the rematch)

  13. the typical words from a blind tyson faboy who know absolutely nothing about the history of boxing. You are a classic

Bruno hurt the grant chin McCall.
Lewis has also taken big bombs .
    See:
    Mercer
    Briggs
Tua ( caught Lewis with one of his devastating left hooks)
    Mirrison
    Golota

Thers 5 big punchers he faced.
