Lennox Lewis vs Mike Tyson, prime for prime, who wins?

  1. bruno was a hard puncher, no doubt about it, but he was a bum with glass chin, he could not fight.
You can not compare a prime tyson with mercer, briggs, tua.morrison , bruno or golota. Was not just the hitting power, tyson was a killer , the best finisher ever ( with joe louis). Lewis might survive agains tua, briggs, mercer or golota, but if tyson hurt you he will destroy you for sure.

Lewis had a very very good chin when in his prime. It was very hard to hurt him.

  3. .with all respect, lennox lewis was a great fighter, he had lion heart, he had power to recover, but he never had "very very very good chin", in my opinion if lewis had great chin he would be invincible, simple.it was his only weak point

Stop twisting Don's words, he said Lewis had a "very very good chin", not a "very very very good chin". :nono

Lennox manages a TKO over a still-standing Tyson in 8.

I've always thought Mike possessed very good stamina for a fighter of his style and build. I predict a cautious start for both; 'cautious' being a relative term. Tyson obviously bags the first, but not without Lewis asserting himself with a retaliatory uppercut. Tyson continues to chase his man in round 2 with great precision and timing, but the retreating Lewis is succesful with peppering 1-2's. Tyson hurts him again with a fast cross. Lewis leans in to clinch and whales away with uppercuts. The third stanza is more of the same, but the larger man is less and less affected by the inpouring barrage. From then on, the tide turns, though still quite competitive. Mike remains a knockout threat, but a growing number of his hooks are summarily blocked. Lewis' jab begins to hit pay dirt; his right now a major factor in the fight. By the eighth, Lewis opens up combinations on a punchy Tyson. The referee steps in to halt the contest after a vicious right from Lewis.

Lewis never had the footwork to deal with a prime Tyson. He couldnt even handle Ray Mercer how's he gonna handle Tyson?

Handle being the correct word to use. He is going to push Tyson around , cling him , lean on him.

Mercer had a good 20lbs on Tyson. So Lewis couldn't push him around as easily.

  13. yes and peralta or young were not the half of fighter who was joe frazier. and foreman.... styles...

I dont think Mercer was as physical as Tyson was at his peak, nor was he as strong. He just came forward with a lot of pressure and punching. I think Tyson at his best would be punching more in the clinches.

Mercer took some hellacious shots in the Lewis fight and kept coming back for more. Tyson, who had a solid chin himself, wouldn't get hit as much as Mercer did. He possibly wobbles a few times when he does get hit, and that's it. I don't think Lewis would come away unscathed. Again, Tyson KO 6.
