Would be unfair to make them fight 10 times though.

So you're saying Tyson was in his prime in that fight?

Lennox Lewis was flattened by Mcall who was soundly beaten by Douglas. Flattened by Rahman. Life and death with killers Bruno and Mercer.

Mavrovic was a toughie as well.

  5. .the tyson fans continues saying that foreman was in his prime when he faced lyle and jimmy young, so yes, tyson was in his prime when he faced douglas, he was 24 years old, if he did not train it is his fault. douglas had problems too, his mother was died. the great stupid excuse of the tyson fans is to say, tyson was in his prime when he destroyed shots ,bums or a lhw, when he lost he was not in his prime... and the typical history, kevin rooney ,cus damato blablabla.

anyway i think that lewis faced a pathetic version of tyson, prime vs prime, tyson was much faster, more explosive, more aggressive, and better finisher, the weak chin of lewis would be a factor, if you put a prime tyson in the place of bruno against lennox and you get lewis ko.. i pick tyson by ko/tko in 5 rounds in the first fight, lewis would beat by sd in the rematch, he would take tyson seriously and he would fight smart.

Both have the power and all-around ability to stop the other. It's a fight either man could win on any given night. I'd take Lewis more often than not.

Well, despite improving vastly come 1995 with Manny Steward in his corner, Lewis was never the sweet scientist that "Ali & Holmes" were, but since Lewis was slightly bigger, stronger and more powerful, I feel Lenny Lewis sits pretty high up at numbers 5 or 6 on the ATG list of heavy champs... I rate Mike Tyson around # 9... Tyson still makes my top-10 despite finishing like a pug against Danny Williams and Kevin McBride in 2004 & '05...
    :bbb
    NOTE:

I'm also a believer that V.K. was kicking ass on Lewis in 2003 and was only hindered by the bad cuts and the ring doctor... Klit showed great emotion and anger when the classic was halted after 6 rds in Los Angeles... Had Klit not had that bad cut above the eye, Lewis would've been in deep **** in round 7...

    MR.BILL:deal:yep

    P.S.

V.K. sits in at # 7 on my ATG list...:good

depends which version of lewis we call prime....the young lion, aggresive and relatively fearless, knocking out his opponenst, or the post ko lewis, the chess player, the boxer....i think prime tyson kos the younger, more aggresive lewis...his size and style left him open to the kind of aggressive attack tyson, who had more power/speed/aggression than any fighter lewsi faced, would bring to the table

the boxer version of lewis still has problem,s with the young, undefeated tyson..lets say the tyson of the biggs fight, or the holmes fight....tysons stalking, malevolent aggression and underrated defensive skills enable him to slip lewis jab and work that big body, getting caught with the odd uppwercut on the way....an excting fight too, but one that either man could win, lewis by comfortable poitns win if he can avoid the hard rain tyson brings or tyson by stoppage anytime before around 8 rounds..id say 60/40 tyson here due to the fact lewis was stopped by lesser punchers/fighters than the prime tyson

I have very little doubts about this one.

Mike Tyson by KO. In the first half of the fight.

Crazy I dont know how you could rank Vitali that high, but whatever. Lewis and Tyson fought a similar level of opposition. I rate Tyson's a bit better because I prefer skill over power with no skills, and Lewis definitely had a tougher time with his opposition than Tyson did.

I see what you're saying about the Douglas fight. At the age of 24, Tyson should have still been in his prime. Those are prime years. However, in his case, he peaked with Spinks. And if you can't see the difference between a Rooney trained Tyson and a Snowell trained Tyson then it's time to get that eye exam you've been holding off on. A lot of Tyson fans go overboard and say he'll knock out anyone and everyone in easy fashion. The detractors say that he slows down after 6-7 rounds. But I do understand where you're coming from.
