A beautiful, sadistic beatdown it was, Tyson permanently scarred Biggs physically & mentally.

The Ruddock rematch was also a fight in which a supremely conditioned Tyson showed he could perform strongly in later rounds.
Despite 3 broken ribs from huge bombs to his body, the final 3 rounds were among his best in the bout, especially the 12th round itself.

The Ribalta fight was a good one. People shrug it off as Ribalta just being a punching bag, but he took a lot of punishment and put up a good fight for a young Tyson.

Good call, Ribalta was subjected to a ferocious onslaught of nuclear-powered aggression, he demonstrated great heart & toughness, since few men would have lasted nearly as long, taking the hellacious, sustained beating that warrior took.

Another paradox thread. If Lennox had wanted to fight prime Tyson, he would have gone to America and fought him in 1990, when Tyson had to fight a rematch with Razor Ruddock.

Lewis was afraid of live opposition.

In this fight I would have to go with Tyson.. We all can agree that the Tyson that Lewis beat was nothing like a Prime Mike.

Prime Mike had great movement coming in bobbing and weaving and that style would enable him to get under the Lewis jab not all the time but frequent enough to allow him to rip to Lennox's body and then explode up top to his jaw.. Prime Mike would get there with enough that I don't see this fight going beyond 7 rounds.. Lewis had a bad habit of dropping his hands when he was brawling if he did that here Mike would find his chin and take him out.. I actually see Tyson winning pretty handily and I have huge respect for Lewis I just think Mike gets there and takes him out, a clean KO!!

    Tyson KO6.

Did you see the look of disbelief Tyson gave Jacobs after the fight? :yikes He threw everything at Ribalta, who kept coming back for more.

Also when the referee asked Ribalta if he wanted to continue he said Hell Yeah.
    Tough Mofo right there

That blows out of the water, the theory, that if you take Tysons best punches and stand up to him, hell just back down :patsch

hahaha Rocky would knock George jelly legged with the right hand then he'd up end Tyson with his left hook then he'd uppercut Lewis and Lewis would drop liked he'd been shot - Lewis would get up but would be wobbling like he was in McCall I and the ref would wave it off - George would struggle up a millisecond before the '10' but the ref would wave it off - and Tyson would stay sitting near the ropes and be appealing to the ref to save him - Tony Tuckers speedy moves may give Marciano a bit of a problem but again 15 rounds is a long time to avoid the suzy Q :good

I can live with this answer. Truthfully I go back and forth on this question. I think it depends on whether or not Lewis can last the first 3-4 rounds, if he can I think he finds away to win, if not..

That's certainly one possibility. The other is that Lewis simply pushes him back and hits him with an upper cut when he comes back inside. Lewis is far stronger and far bigger than Tyson and the one thing Lewis was extremely good at was using his size to his advantage.

And like when they fought, Lewis might even loss a point or two just to keep Tyson at bay. And if he hits Tyson a couple of times with his overhand right or upper cut as Tyson's coming in, Tyson could easily get frustrated (and hurt).

I've noticed that many people point to the first round of their fight as proof that Tyson would get inside and win if he was in his prime, but most don't remember, or choose to forget, that it was actually Tyson, not Lewis who got hurt in that first round, regardless of who won the round. So I'm not too sure that a fight in both their primes would pan out a lot differently. Certainly Tyson was more shot than Lewis when they fought, that much we can all agree on, but styles make fights, and both their styles are basically kyponite for the other.

So there's various plausable scenarios that can be laid out on both sides of this fight and one thing we can probably all agree on is that the longer the fight goes the better it is for Lewis.

Dude, that was a completly shot to pieces Tyson impersonator.........that fight means jack **** and what makes you think that Lewis would have hit prime Mike in that scenerio?

BTW, he took a couple of BIG single shots in the Tucker/Bonehugger/Bruno fights and even when getting buckled did not complain and kept going.

Both Douglas and Holyfield stated that when Tyson is hurt he is most dangerous.

I can't imagine any other way that Lennox would try to fight him. Lewis is an ATG who used his size to his advantage better than any other big man in history.

Tyson never got frustrated because of power and to this day claims that Razor Ruddock hit him the hardest. He's occasionally flip flopped between Ruddock and Bruno but never really alluded to Lewis being the biggest puncher he's faced. Additionally even if Tyson did get hit on the way in, what's to say that he doesn't successfully counter? Remember it was Lewis was more susceptible to 1 Punch KO's not Tyson.

Bruno hurt Tyson in the first round, didn't matter. The reason why they point to it was because it was the only round fought on even terms; By the end of the 2nd round beginning of the 3rd round it was becoming increasingly obvious that Tyson was a spent force. He was not as explosive as one would have hoped for and he was uncharacteristically passive. The first round showed how the ebb and flow of their actual match would be, with Tyson showing success and Lewis showing success.

In his prime Tyson's stamina was fine in fact I'd argue that he had better stamina than Lewis. Remember that Tyson's style was very taxing which is why youth was his greatest asset. Lewis had a style that relied on size and skill giving him the advantage an an advanced age. Tyson would pressure him throughout and unlike Tua he'd push him to his limits.

I actually see this resembling the Mercer fight, with Mike playing the role of Ray and actually getting the job done.
