He knocked out Foreman, who certainly had a better chin than Lewis (and never again got knocked out or even stopped). Stopped Frazier, who only got stopped otherwise by Mr. Foreman, one of the greatest punchers in boxing history. Stopped Bonavena, who Frazier couldn't stop in two fights. Stopped Lyle, and I believe only Foreman did that during his peak (the Ball and Cooney stoppages came after Lyle became a grandfather). He stopped Liston at least once...who else did that before him?

Lewis would get stopped in the later rounds imo.

    Talk me out of it.

    I'll address all your points:
    1. Foreman punched himself out. He was completely gassed out. Anyone could have taken him out by that point.
    2. He did not stop Frazier in the sense of knocking him out. Futch threw in the towel cause Frazier could barely see. But that was after non stop pummeling. He won't be landing anywhere near as much on Lewis, who isn't blind in one eye (like Frazier was).
Another thing worth mentioning is that Ali was ready to quit himself in that fight and wanted his gloves cut off.
    3. Ali ain't landing on Lewis the way he did on Bonavena, and even if he did, it won't be enough to take him out.
    4. The Lyle fight was a premature stoppage.
    5. Liston took a dive.

Ali has the hand and foot speed to outpoint Lewis, but there's no way he's ever stopping him.

Over 12 or 15 rounds? Would love to see Lewis in a 15 rounder considering he took plenty of rests in his fights

Ali's straight right hand drove ronnie across the ring and left him defenseless against Muhammad's onslaught and after the referee stopped the bout, Lyle protested briefly, then staggered to his corner in a daze.
There was no way he could have continued fighting at this point.
The other facts you just mentioned are, however, true.

Yeah I've seen the stoppage many times now .... 100 percent legit as he couldn't defend himself

Foreman might have a better chin but that man was gassed when Ali KO'd him, when Foreman was gassed even feather fisted Young folded Foreman like luggage.

Foreman was very aggressive leaving openings. He also was extremely sloppy in Zaire. George gassed out. Lewis would be more measured. Remember Ali has to walk a bit of a tight rope here. Getting inside on Lennox isn't that easy.
I lean towards Ali cause of his unique gifts of foot quickness and balance. He was a marvel in his own right. Lewis would be there to punish him for any mistakes he makes. Ali would end up fighting cautious himself.
One thing nobody ever wanted was Lennox Lewis hitting them. He had exceptional power.

Even if he fight goes 15 rounds, Ali still ain't stopping him.
Lewis can also rest against Ali, who ain't a big puncher.

    After months of careful consideration:

Pre-Steward Lewis stopped in 12 by 60s Ali, in 9 by Zaire.

Steward-Lewis loses a close but UD by 60s Ali, and a razor-close SD by Zaire.

I suggest you ask the one man who would be able to tell you...... Lennox himself. He would tell you, what Ive head him tell many people before. "I could never beat Ali he was, is & always will be THE GREATEST " !!!!!!

Lennox beats post-exile Ali. Pre-exile Ali would just be too quick.
