Lennox Lewis vs. Muhammad Ali

both were great heavyweights and either one could win the fight which is underlined by the fact that the poll is about even. what fans from present boxers often miss is that lewis could be outjabbed, look at the bruno or vitali fight. why wouldn't it be possible that Ali does the same to him?

Ali was good at outjabbing guys who'd be CWs today and who were 3 inches shorter than him. Ali would have trouble reaching modern HWs chins, let alone outjab them.

 

A past prime Lewis would have DESTROYED Foreman?

Lewis was knocked out by McCall, Rahman and struggled with Mercer.

Lets not pretend that Lennox was the Terminator.

The guys on here have no concept of footwork.

All they can see, is that Ali had a slight reach disadvantage, and wasn't as heavy as a lot of guys.

Oh and that he had he a low KO ratio.

Apparently, a guy with Ali's speed and skills, couldn't overcome a bigger, more powerful opponent, that was taller and had a longer reach.

Ali couldn't even COMPETE against today's HW's, because today's HW's are bigger.

The young version of Ali doesn't dance around LL the way he danced around the bums he fought, and if he stands and boxes he eats jabs all night long, and gets teed up for the kind of shots he took from Jones, and Cooper.

Vs much worse comp. His handspeed was very good, but hardly more "blazing" than much stronger, much harder punching modern HWs. David Haye is as fast as Ali and a bigger puncher - he was in survival mode vs Wlad as he would've been vs Lewis. On a good night Haye most likely stops Ali. Forget LL, the mid 30s Ali loses badly to many top modern HWs.

I think you must be somewhat confused. I am not debating anything with you. I'm educating you. You obviously haven't seen the left hooks that made Bruno and Rahman lose their senses before the punches that ended the respective fights.

As for LL being a " terminator " I neither know nor care. What I do know however is he was far better than anyone Ali ever fought, and indeed easily capable of beating Ali himself.

Lewis isn't beating prime Foreman.

Foreman was a master at cutting off the ring and if Rahman could trap Lewis before shuting him off , Foreman would send him bambi legged back to Canada.
