both were great heavyweights and either one could win the fight which is underlined by the fact that the poll is about even. what fans from present boxers often miss is that lewis could be outjabbed, look at the bruno or vitali fight. why wouldn't it be possible that Ali does the same to him?
See beatsboxingmayhem.files.wordpress.com/2010/09/klitschkoali.jpg Ali was good at outjabbing guys who'd be CWs today and who were 3 inches shorter than him. Ali would have trouble reaching modern HWs chins, let alone outjab them.
A past prime Lewis would have DESTROYED Foreman? Lewis was knocked out by McCall, Rahman and struggled with Mercer. Lets not pretend that Lennox was the Terminator. List me all the modern HW's who you think would have beaten a 25 year old Ali, from 1967.
A great post! The guys on here have no concept of footwork. All they can see, is that Ali had a slight reach disadvantage, and wasn't as heavy as a lot of guys. Oh and that he had he a low KO ratio. Apparently, a guy with Ali's speed and skills, couldn't overcome a bigger, more powerful opponent, that was taller and had a longer reach. Ali couldn't even COMPETE against today's HW's, because today's HW's are bigger. What a joke! Some of these clowns need to be on a stage doing stand up.
I don't care which version you wish to take. You must be a fool if you believe that Lewis was some semi literate plodding oaf like Liston, Williams, Frazier, or Foreman. Someone mentioned Lewis had no left hook. Oh yeah!!! Ask Bruno or Rahman whether or not he had a left hook? The young version of Ali doesn't dance around LL the way he danced around the bums he fought, and if he stands and boxes he eats jabs all night long, and gets teed up for the kind of shots he took from Jones, and Cooper. The older version who couldn't dance for more than 45 seconds per round gets slaughtered by Lennox easily. Two idiots in this thread ( they could only be fvcking Yanks ) have claimed 1. Bert Cooper only rated Lewis 5th as a puncher. Oh really, how the fvck would he know? They never fought. 2. LL avoided 90's Larry Holmes. The international standard chess playing Lewis might debate with himself for possibly 20 seconds whether or not to **** on a piece of garbage like Holmes if he was on fire. As for giving him a ring payday, not a hope in hell.
The one that got decked by over sized LHWs & CWs? Or the early 70s Ali who got decked by small, plodding HW Frazier after Joe ate jabs for 15 rounds :huh Not just better, but "light years" better. Sheesh, your slurping is embarrassing :-( The only "Wow" is how long it took him to stop or UD fighters who'd be CWs today. Vs much worse comp. His handspeed was very good, but hardly more "blazing" than much stronger, much harder punching modern HWs. David Haye is as fast as Ali and a bigger puncher - he was in survival mode vs Wlad as he would've been vs Lewis. On a good night Haye most likely stops Ali. Forget LL, the mid 30s Ali loses badly to many top modern HWs. Dude, the 220 lb Ali was way past it and hardly "blazing". Top modern HWs are NOT "much" slower. Your ridiculous exaggerations are a huge tell - almost like you're in some trance trying to convince yourself. Mid 30s Ali gets demolished by old 40 something Lewis or Vitali. What's Ali going to do vs those two? Out punch them, wear them down with clinching Wait a sec... he'd win with footwork and blazing handspeed :blurp just like he did splitting 2 bouts w/the 7 fight ATG CW Leon Spinks atsch
Frazier and Foreman = plodding oafs? Ask Rahman and Bruno? In your world, Lennox is the Terminator and everyone who Ali fought was a bum. There's literally no point in debating with you any further. :good
Wow! Did you really mention Leon Spinks to try and back up your argument? atsch Haye faster than Ali? On a good night he'd have stopped him? Light years better? Your posts are getting more embarrassing as each week passes by.
I think you must be somewhat confused. I am not debating anything with you. I'm educating you. You obviously haven't seen the left hooks that made Bruno and Rahman lose their senses before the punches that ended the respective fights. As for LL being a " terminator " I neither know nor care. What I do know however is he was far better than anyone Ali ever fought, and indeed easily capable of beating Ali himself. Your blind hero worship of Ali clouds your judgement to the point of absurdity.
You're educating me? I've read some of your other posts on the other threads, and they're on par with this nonsense.
Lewis isn't beating prime Foreman. Foreman was a master at cutting off the ring and if Rahman could trap Lewis before shuting him off , Foreman would send him bambi legged back to Canada.
