This is a close one, style wise Lewis has a few things that could cause Ali a lot of problems. Lennox Lewis at his best is a serious issue for anybody in history, Muhammad Ali included.

Having said that, I'd pick a prime 60's Ali to outland him and get it done on points. Ali's hand and foot speed was phenomenal at that time and I just think he'd be too quick for Lewis.

I'd pick Lewis to get the better of a lot of the 70's version of Ali though, that long jab coming back would give 70's Ali fits in my opinion.

yeah it looked like Haye was ice skating out there, then we find out dude's got a completely busted inflamed toe. what a wild night that was. Wlad couldn't believe it when Haye busted out that toe. I think that's why Haye can't get a rematch with either brother now.

    Tommo,

I don't know how you can say that Wlad is the better/tougher fighter of the two, but I respect your opinion.

Ha! There is a actually a few interviews with Wlad, that you can find online where he discusses it.

No that's not the only reason. But I think under different circumstances Vital would be the main man. I also think that if they weren't brothers and they fought in a unification, Vitali would win.

    :good

Incredibly close!! It's tough betting against Ali at any time.

    Tommo,

I don't see how he has a far better resume, all things considered.

He's got better stats, because he's had 16 more fights. He's younger and hasn't 4 years out like Vitali.

But he's been knocked out 3 times, and only avenged one of the losses. Vitali went and beat Puritty and Sanders.

He's got a very good win over Byrd though, who Vitali didn't rematch, and a victory over Haye. But again, that's just because he got to fight him first.

Vitali's never been beaten decisively, like Wlad, and he was extremely unlucky against Lewis, and Lewis retired without having a rematch. That speaks volumes to me.

So, I just can't see how Wlad is better. He's just had more fights.

Wlad's defence has been breached many times.

Ha! Just google - Wladimir Klitschko says he won coin toss with Brother to fight David Haye.

Wlad hasn't got the will, the chin or the confidence that Vitali has in my opinion.

When I first found this forum I was so excited...nowadays I very rarely read it as there are such utter morons who know nothing about boxing.

There are some good posts on here about Ali vs Lewis but one thing is for absolute certain...no way in hell, never in a million years, does Lewis or anyone else in boxing history knock out or stop a prime Ali. Period.

I am not going into the reasons..if you dont know already then you are a fool who shouldnt be commenting on boxing.

How the does Patterson/Liston prove that? Pathetic. Liston was a very hard puncher.

If Haye had an extra few inches on his reach or have a reach like Ali then Haye is hitting Wlad at will. Haye was just missing, where as Wladimir as missing completely.

You got a source or you making **** up again? He ducked Byrd.

    Lewis smashes him.

The cult around Clay is laughable. It is only surpassed by Bruce Lee but at least we have actual video of Clay fighting.

Lewis is probably the toughest matchup for Ali in a head-to-head sense, but prime Ali still has too much speed and toughness when necessary for Lewis and takes it on points.
