IF this superfight had come to fruition in say around 1992/1993 who do you think would have taken it? both fighters were in their prime and both were undefeated as pro's.

Who would you have gone for?

probably Lewis. i believe Bowe knew this as well. it's just unfortunate that being a coward could rub off from one to another a decade later

Lewis no question, Bowe admitted this with his actions.

Lewis is simply more skilled, schooled and disciplined in the ring

Bowe was far more developed as a pro at that point, Lewis was less cautious & more vunerable than he became later

In 92-93 Bowe wins, in 95-96 I'd favour Lewis. Both would have been great fights.

At the time Bowe was more of a beast physically, I think. But skills/mentality wise Lennox takes it. All in all I lean towards Lewis but it's not that obvious. There are chances that he would get sparked out by some good shot.

Bowe gave up his world title to duck Lewis. That should tell you all you need to know.:good
Plus Lewis already ****ed up Bowe in the 88 olympics.....

prime for prime Lewis obviously. I just voted Lewis on the poll without reading but in 1992/93 i think Bowe could have beaten that skinny wimp version of Lewis because there was quite some gap in terms of physical strength between them at that time

Lewis was in his physical peak at this point so I'm not sure what evidence your basing this on

Well lewis was coming off of victories over ruddock and tucker whilst riddick was coming off of a very impressive showing against holyfield.

Lewis had already beaten bowe and riddick didn't want to give lewis a shot at his titles so he didn't feel confident in victory.

Bowe would soon lose interest in the training side of the sport whilst lewis was about to be iced against mccall.

Bowe was a brilliant fighter in all 3 ranges and technically he was phenomenal for his size. He did have one downfall however and that was his defence. There is no way a man, as willing as he was to eat shots, would survive against lewis.

Bowe could be hurt and had he fought at a higher level he'd probably have been stopped eventually.

There is a chance he'd land a punch perfect counter like mccall did, but a puncher's chance is a small one. Mccall hit the jackpot and it's a shame they didn't rematch sooner to see how lewis would handle him.

Bowe will try walking lewis down which will be suicide as lewis will smash him on the way in and land big uppercuts before clinching once he's inside. Providing lewis is willing to clinch (bowe is far superior inside) he should be able to control the action and dominate big daddy.

If bowe ever had a chance it would have been during this period when lewis took more risks. Lewis bravado could see him trying to trade with bowe. If the fight happens in 96 lewis is a massive favourite.

My pick is lewis by late round tko.

I think around 92-93 Bowe was a more polished fighter, and was operating closer to his maximum potential than the pre-Steward Lewis. I don't think Bowe would have struggled like Lewis did with Bruno, or come a cropper against McCall.

However, I think h2h Lewis would always have an edge over Bowe. I could see it going like the Olympic final in the sense that Bowe would hold the early edge, but Lewis would come on strong later to score a TKO.
