lewis favoured but not by much if you arent fool enough to ignore the fundamentals and intangibles that Marciano brought to the ring.

This is a horrible match up for Rocky. Much much worse for him than Liston and Foreman because Lewis really used his range, control of pace as well as his strength. And the size just gets even more ridiculous.

However, don't anybody think it could ever be easy for Lewis. It really is not impossible for a tiny guy to come forward and land a lot of punches on a much bigger and taller guy.

Orlin Norris did this to Tony Tucker. Now people will answer me by saying yes but Norris was over 200lb ...but if you watch that fight it was not the weight of that guy that kept Norris in that fight and landing more punches. It was the use of distance, dipping low and the closing of the gap. Using the right kinds of punches and dictating the distance and space that suited the little man. And the reach and height differential between Tucker and Norris is relevant to Marciano and Lewis.

A small man only gets trapped in a no man's land where he can't reach the bigger fellow if he stands up tall. By bending at the knees and keeping low he can come up and under. Presenting a more difficult target and making it much harder to predict what hand he uses. There's no sequence to follow like there is against the stranded man stuck at range.

Marciano would be an awkward and busy customer for Lewis even if Rocky is losing. Lewis will be punching down at a twisting and turning jumble of shoulders and elbows. He will be grabbing at Rocky. Leaning on him. Neutralizing much of his obvious assets. Lewis still might have an edge because he was clever but his caution would make it a much closer fight.

Lewis would need to be switched on and in better shape than he was against Rahman.

I am releasing footage from a fight previously only known to an exclusive boxing cabal in possession of the latest in time traveling technology. THEY DID FIGHT! And here is the footage to prove it:

I' defintly be rooting for marciano, lennox had far more hand speed, power, and footwork than anyone rocky faced though, any scenario where rocky wins would require him taking the biggest beating of his life and keep fighting. Lennox couldn't really take a punch well, but rocky isn't going to knock him out with one punch either. Lennox would win by t.k.o

Lennox Lewis is a great fighter, no question. He was the best of his era. Lewis wound up beating everyone he fought. He has a great record. But he took a long time to catch on. Most of his career it was undecided if he was even the best then. Now it’s accepted he was one of the best ever. This is unusual among top ten ATGs. Unique too that an all timer got knocked cold within his prime years.

I think Lewis should be favoured here. He’s not just a big man. Lewis a big man who was great. Who used his distance and size well. Outside of his comfort zone though, if the pace was a little too fast he was prone to panic and labour in untidy bouts that could expose him.

Against an all time #3 heavyweight like Rocky Lewis would need to be switched on.

He hit a bit harder but I wouldn't say he was exactly as great.

Please to remind me the lightheavy and 196 pounder who decked Lewis. My memory isn't as good as it used to me.

The people who watched Marciano back then and are still alive right now vouch for the fact that Rocky was the guy willing to take a punch to land a punch, he would never stop coming forward, his stamina was legendary and unlike other boxers who start of with fast work rates and then slow down, he would never stop punching and would punch shoulders, forearms, ribs and eventually he managed to wear down his opponent. And yes Marciano was one of the hardest punchers in history.

I say 75% Lewis and 25% Marciano landing a big bomb.
