Well given that Lewis was starched by ordinary fighters like McCall and Rahman, it stands to reason he shaky chin wouldn't stand up to the punishment The Rock's Suzy Q would put on 'em!! :yep
I knew exactly what you were going to say as soon as I saw your name as being the last post made. Now, if Toney can KO Holy with a body shot, imagine what the Rock would do to Holy........
This must be a troll post. 6'6 250 pound guy with an 85 reach whose right hand bust opens taller guys face requiring them to get 70 stitches by round 7, who knockouts guys who are 6'6 like nothing, vs a guy who is 5'10 67 reach, weighs 188 pounds and wouldn't even qualify for being a heavyweight today and fought in the weakest era in boxing. His most notable fight includes beating up guys in the weakest era of boxing who come out retirement over 36 who were no more than 6'0 tall and had reaches no more than 74 and knocking them and who had managers who admitingly matched him against fighters they knew couldn't win. Lewis could just lean on him for 10 rounds =30 minutes and tire him half to death. I would think this last about 5 rounds before lewis got bored and decided to give him an upper cut to knock him out. There is a small chance that lewis play around with rocky too much and marciano get a chance to rockman lewis, but then again it won't work because Marciano would not be able to touch lewis' chin because of his shortness
I would give Marciano a chance against some good HWs today and he would probably beat every CW but not Lewis he would have a punchers chance but no he would not win
Back when Marciano fought he was a decent size heavyweight now he would be fighting at a much lower weight class, probably close to middle weight. I can't think of anyone that I would favor over him in and around that weight.
People need to be educated when it comes to this argument. Anybody who doesn't give a chance to Marciano needs to find a new sport to follow. In all combat sports such as Karate a 150 pounder could face a 250 ponder in a world championship and often is the case when the smaller man would win. It comes down to intellect and Marciano was a genius in the ring. Lewis is a one dimensional HW who had size and a jab but very little else. Those attributes would probably be a disadvantage against Marciano. The footspeed comparison is laughable. Lewis moves like a statue and Marciano would come in bobbing and weaving under Lewis jab ripping him to the body. One shot is all it would take to send Lewis on his ass. Im not saying Marciano wins hands down but anybody who cant see his chances are clueless.
Iam a big Marciano Fan But this Thread is realy a Joke Marciano was not realy a Heavyweight Boxer to Small For Lewis. Lennox is a Beast he would outbox him easy or Knock Him Brutal out sorry. But at the same Height and weight my Boy would Destroy Lewis not only Lewis he would Beat Any Heavyweight Boxer in The History except Prime Ali and Joe Lewis. Prime Ali and Lewis would take this in a Real Battle By CD. Rocky Marciano Height - 5′ 11″/180cm Reach - 67″/170cm Lennox Lewis Height - 6′ 5″/ 196cm Reach - 84″/213cm
Rocky could be dropped, outboxed, outworked, but a peak Marciano you could never count out he was one of the best conditioned heavyweights of all time maybe only the Klitschko's and Tyson trained as hard as Rocky whose training regime was legendary. He was alot stronger than he looked and for his size. Walcott was kicking younger fighters ass same way Hopkins was just recently, but in more spectacular fashion.
I havent read ANY of this thread bar the OP,and Im not going to. Lewis absolutely destroys Marciano. If Marciano was around today,he'd be fighting at light heavyweight. Rockys sheer toughness alone might help him last 4-5 rounds.
Well Marciano could only beat up old guys with bald spots like Joe Louis who tire easily. Had he fought Walcott under today's rules he would have lots by decision in the 12th round. I would love to see a karate black belt take a punch from Lennox Lewis and **** in his pants Lewis had the best boxing trainer available at the time and one of the all time greats emmanuelle steward. Lewis had a jab, an uppercut, and well pretty much all his punches hurt like hell. Marciano was not a ring genius, he routinely got his butt beat for rounds and rounds missed lots of his shots, got put down, fought wild, ate punches like a fat broad. If marciano fought anyone who basically did not run out of gas because they were 40, he'd lose. His wins, the way he won, did not impress me. Lewis was bigger hit harder but most importantly was smarter. He was often boring because he was so strategic in his fights, and he often lost the 1st round because he'd spend it observing his opponents weaknesses rather than trying to win the round. And when he sees all of Marciano's weaknesses he'd exploit them. We don't even know if Marciano could reach Lewis head never mind knock him out
Your ******ation depresses me. You do realize you are the only person alive who thinks Lewis have no boxing skills and just relied on his strength right? Most boxing pundits feel Lewis got great boxing skills, and he got tremendous foot movement for such a big man. His jab comes in variations and he usually mix it in with upper cuts/over hands/ rights to deadly effect. He is also a master counter puncher and displayed some pretty slick defense against Shannon Briggs. If he just relied on size and brute strength, he would have lost to 11 different heavyweights. 11 being the number of fighters he fought that were around his size or bigger. He went 11-0 against 'big heavyweights'. You are a pathetic waste of life, go ****ing ram your head into the nearest phone pole. ****** moron ****
