it's no great surprise I mean Chavez fights at about the same weight as rocky.

I wonder how they compare height and reach wise actually?

I think draining down can limit a fighter if it isn't done correctly but I reckon pp is spot on, take anyone from before the 24 hour weigh in and they could remove 10% and compete a couple.of divisions below.

Lewis's right hand smashes open Rocky's skin and stops him on cuts in the mid rounds.

Lewis would be too big, too strong and ultimately too skillful for Marciano.

Powerpuncher is right just because Rocky trained his ass off and weighed 185lbs doesn't mean he can't cut 15lbs especially if the weigh in is a day before the fight.

Anyway Lennox is too big and powerful this would look like a heavyweight Hearns v Duran.

Marciano was a heavy-boned guy. Perhaps he could cut to 175, but with his monk like dedication it may take something out of him. Sick and with the flu Marciano was like 181 against Salvold.

A lot of fighters these days are harming themselves draining so much. So yes, you can do it but but how much would it ultimately effect him. If Marciano had a better nutrition/diet which allowed for him to eat more be much better served at CW, maybe even a small HW than MW or SMW. If that were even possible.

    No PP, he couldn't.

He had already dropped as far as he could go. He always came in as light as possible, and well under his walk around weight. If he hadn't been so religious about keeping his weight to a minimum, he would have come in around 210.

    ?????

Chavez gets weighed the day before the fight. In Rocky's day, he would have fought at LHW.

I saw the Tua fight and most of Lewis other fights. I rate his chin as decent, and I rate Wlad's as decent too. Wlad was never KO'd by a single punch for the 10 count, even after several flush shots from Sanders. Rahman put Lennox right out.

As I said, I rate both chins as decent. They both take more 'glass flak' than is warranted.

Read again thoroughly, the human body is around 50% water, you can cut around 10%-15% bodyweight by water cutting

    See my earlier post

Just look at McClellan and Eubank 180lb+ guys in the ring, Eubank cut out of rock and similar dimensions to Rocky

I'm not going to argue with LHW. SMW and MW would've been a serious hindrance. Marciano is much more big-boned than Eubanks. Agree to disagree.

What the f? We are still making these bull crap Marciano threads? Why doesn' the moderator just ban anybody from making threads with Marciano vs any real heavyweight?

People don't want to realize weight does matter until their favourite hw loses to a bigger one.
(Not trying to discredit Haye, he's very good but..)
Before the Wlad fight:Size doesn't matter, Haye's gonna KO the bum
After the Wlad fight:Haye is just a cruiser, Wlad couldn't even KO a cruiser.

Weight isn't the only thing, but when 2 equally skilled men fight you should bet on the bigger man.

Marciano could make light-welterweight if he really tried.

Lewis by KO! Whoever voted for Rocky should have their heads examined. Too big, too skilled.
