Liston had a good jab that might give Lewis problems but Lewis had a longer jab and hit harder. I think Lewis stops him in round 7.
If ordinary palookas like McCall or Rahman could take Lewis out early, a hard-hitting ATG like Liston will make short work of him, no doubt.
Dumb analysis there Zakman. The man who crumbled when facing a taller fighter, the man who went down in one from a glancing punch is now an ATG who would make short work of Lewis? :rofl Now McCall and Rahman are "palooka's" - truly spoken like a fanboy. :yep
I see Sonny holding up better against Lewis' shots than Lewis holding up under Liston's bombs, so I'll go with him, although this one can go either way. Despite what two previous posters claimed, Liston hit harder than Lewis and their reach was exactly the same, so Lewis did not have a longer and more powerful jab.
I dont even think its a contest to be honest. LL dominates him and ko's him eventually, especially if we are talking about Liston fighting in Lennox''s era. Of course if they fought 10 times more than likely Liston could upset him with a ko one of those times. But I reckon LL just manhandles him and jabs his face to bits.
