I forgot, we're not allowed to count anything that happened in Tyson's career past 1988. Yet Lewis' entire career is in play

Who retired as universialy recognised champ ?

Who defeated every man he ever faced (by way of rematch)

    i rest my case lol

  3. I would say lennox was in his prime for the rahman defeat . But thta was a case of lennox going hollywood more than anything.

Exactly, most of Lewis' best wins are questionable. I thought Mercer won that fight, he landed the better shots throughout the fight. As you already pointed out, Lewis' didnt have an easy time with an ancient Holyfield, especially in the 2nd fight which could of been easily called a draw. I think Lewis' was a top 10 Heavyweight based on his record and names he beat on his resume, but his chin always seemed weak, I understand Lewis only got KO'd twice, but he always had unsteady legs and seemed to always looked one punch away from being knocked out.

I think his best wins were against guys well past there prime, like Tyson and Holyfield, also another good win in which he was down on all cards was against Vitali who looked to have him out on his feet plenty of times in that fight.

Lennox Lewis is about the same age as both Tyson and Holyfield. Tyson had a chance to fight Lewis in 1996 and blatantly ducked him, Bowe Blatantly ducked him in 1992. Lewis olbliterated Ruddock after Ruddock gave Tyson a tough fight. Lewis didn't have great chin, but it wasn't glass. Lewis had great size, power and skill, and he beat or was ducked by pretty much every top fighter of his era. Stop sleeping on this guy.

  6. Didn't tyson come out of prison around then ?

I agree lennoxs best victory was against ruddock , after he had been in two wars with tyson . I remember the ko well .

Yep, he came out prison and fought a couple of setups. He then beat Bruno for the WBC strap. Don King paid Lewis step aside money so that Tyson could fight Seldon for the WBA strap. Lewis did this with the understanding that he would fight the winner of Seldom/Tyson. After Tyson dusted off Seldon, he reneged on his deal and fought Holyfield instead(he was stripped of his WBC title).

A few years later he started talking all this **** about Lewis; threatening to eat his non existent kids. Immediately after this rant he quickly stated that he wasn't ready to fight Lewis. Eventually, he realized that he would never be able to beat Lewis, but fought him anyway because he needed the money. He was thoroughly beaten, and never had another meaningful fight.

The only fighter that ducked Lewis was Bowe, Tyson went for the money in 96 and fought Holyfield, which broke PPV records for that time. As far as Lewis' being the same age as the both of them, well that may be true, by the time Holyfield fought Lewis he was in way more tough fights and already broken down from fighting guys like Foreman, Tyson, Moorer, Bowe, Mercer and Braxton, guys let really put him through wars. How many wars had Lewis been through by then, Mccall and Mercer are the only 2 I can come up with.

The fight in 02 against Tyson was a joke, The man had'nt been in his prime for over 12 years, and even he said in a interview that he wanted at least 2 more fights before fighting Lewis, but he couldnt turn down the opertunity or money that might not be there in another year.

Lewis' wasnt as popular as Holyfield, Tyson went with the money, I would hardly call that ducking someone, its called making the better business decision.

I disagree. Tyson's fight with Peter McNeeely did 1million plus ppv buys. Tyson could do big numbers against alot of people. And it was Tyson's second fight with Holyfield that broke all of the records, not the first one. It was better business decision alright, he went after the guy who he thought he had the better chance of beating.

Lewis/Tyson would of not did the numbers Tyson/Holyfield did, Holyfield/Tyson did break PPV records then Tyson/Holyfield 2 broke the previous fights record. Lewis did really have a good fan base at the time, unlike Holyfield who was just as popular as Tyson at that time probably. I cant see how anyone can say Tyson ducked Lewis', especially since there was more money to be made by fighting Holyfield.

Tyson tells Lewis that if he steps aside and allows him to get his title shot at Seldon that he would give Lewis a title shot in the event that he won. Tyson won and then didn't give Lewis a title shot. That's how I can say he ducked Lewis. Tyson knew he couldn't beat Lewis, plain and simple.

I only pick 3 to beat Lewis .

    Prime Clay wouldnt get hit.

Prime Tyson will eat his children

Foreman has that KO chance just ask McCall and Rahman.

That was Don Kings doing, and I would give Tyson a 50/50 chance of knocking out Lewis at the time, you must remember Lewis was knocked out with one punch against Mccall, I could only imagine what would happen if Tyson would of hit Lewis with a solid left hook.:dead
