Lennox Lewis fought the best of the heavyweight la in the 90s & early 00s. Ducking no-one - he beat all who were put in front of him (he avenged his two loses). However, despite a quality resume, he didn't face every top heavyweight & there are some name he didn't face. How do you think he does against the following: Bowe Moorer Ruiz Sanders Byrd How I feel he'll do against them - Bowe (Lewis wins via UD or late stoppage. Competitive fight, but Lewis prevails as the superior fighter). - Moorer (Lewis KO in 1 or 2 rounds) - Ruiz (Lewis KO 8-10 or UD) - Sanders (Lewis KO in 6. Sanders has his moments early, giving Lewis an early scare). - Byrd (UD or late stoppage - fight looks similarly to when Byrd fought Wlad). I think he beats all of them, with Bowe being the biggest threat.
Moorer is underrated he has a very good chance on knocking lewis out, some people complain about his chin but in fact he was only knocked out by Tua, Holyfield, and Foreman all heavy hitters. In the second fight vs holyfield he looked unmotivated an in awful shape. But yeah my money would be on lennox
Bowe-I'm indecisive on this one. If it were up 2 me they would have 2 fight several times 2 get all the possible outcomes. Moorer-Lewis would knock him out, but it wouldn't be til the middle rounds. Moorer was a very capable fighter. Ruiz-You're probably right. Sanders-I also agree w/ u on Sanders/ Byrd-Lewis UD as well.
He probably wins against all of them, with the exception of Bowe. There, it depends what versions of each boxer shows up. Up until Lewis teammed up with Stewards, Bowe was the superior boxer. Had they met in 92, Bowe would have won. After 95, Lewis would have won.
Bowe is a toss up but I would favour Lewis, Bowe never faced any punchers of LL's caliber. Saunders could "Rahman" him but this is unlikely because Lewis sparred him before so would know he was dangerous early. He most likely knocks him out mid rds. I honestly don't think he has much trouble with the rest, I could see Byrd making it to the final bell
Moorer barely beat a bad off night version of Holyfield. Also he tended to get dropped a lot in his fight.
Bowe - depends if it's pre-Steward Lewis or Lewis at his best? Pre-Steward Lewis gets knocked out - he was very talented, but nowhere near as skilled as he became later in his career. And his balance was really bad. Steward-trained Lewis beats any version of Bowe from 1995 onwards. Best versions of both? Wow, that would be INCREDIBLE fight! Bowe had better chin, workrate, stamina and was more offensively skilled, but prime Lewis had far superior defense and knew how to survive tough monents in the fights. Plus, IMO, he had better accuracy. So, I'd favor him to beat Bowe prime for prime but just slightly, without any confidence. Moorer would make things awkward for Lennox in the early rounds with his great skills and southpaw stance, but Lennox would eventually caught him with a big right hand and knock him out in the mid rounds. Ruiz style was awfully hard to look good against (except for former middleweights LOL), but I have no doubts Lewis would beat him comfortably either by late stoppage or wide UD. Sanders might catch Lennox early, but if Lennox was prepared and focused he would likely survive the early storm and do his job in the mid rounds Byrd again would present him some test with his stance and great defensive skills, but prime Lewis would beat him comfortably, IMO, most likely by wide UD. But for 2003 version of Lennox Byrd might be a tough fight Ibeabuchi is another name I'd like to add to this list. I think Lewis would beat him by comfortable decision. Ike was very good but too predictable to catch him with his best shots and Lewis would never underestimate him like he did with Rahman or Briggs
