This bout wouldn't be won on jabs; it would be won on a wider armory and Lewis outdoes almost anyone in that department. Lewis wouldn't get caught up in Fury's headlights and let himself be hypnotized, like Wlad did.

Has nothing to do with stamina. Lewis would have to work out the timing and find a way to land that right hand bomb. It would take him a while but he would find it. Fury gets hit.

Exactly. That he went the distance is more an indication of ridiculous durability than anything. He took some insane shots. For all we know he belongs in the top echelon for being able to take a punch.

Anyone who thinks Lewis deals with Fury easily is delusional. Even Lewis himself acknowledged that it would be a really tough, awkward fight for him.

As much as I think Fury may yet be remembered as a great fighter, I can only see this ending with Lewis knocking him cold. Unlike Wilder, Lewis had an arsenal, and would have found the punch more than twice in the fight.

Anyone confusing the kind words and diplomacy of the aging, former heavyweight champion Lewis, with what would no doubt be the charged-up, aggressively competitive attitude of an active and prime Lewis, is thinking wishfully.

It’s a good match. We need to see more of Fury. Wlad was old and I know many love Wilder on these boards but I always felt he couldn’t box and was predictable. Still to be fair I picked him to win I thought Fury was washed up but I was wrong.
Fury believes in himself hard to beat a man with that belief in himself bringing his size and talent into the ring.
Thing with Lewis is he bloomed late. At Fury’s age now he wasn’t far removed from his shocking 1 punch loss to McCall or to his razor thin could go either way win over Mercer. During that telecast the announcers were noting how he just didn’t have the “it” factor of the big 3 heavies (Bowe Holyfield and an in prison Tyson). Shows what front runners the announcers are and how we are all prisoners of the moment. With a good trainer and dedication he totally changed the narrative of his career. You can change perception. I hope Fury continues to do the same as well, just a year ago he was written off as someone who got lucky against an old Wlad and was now a drug addict. Hopefully he continues to write a few more storybook chapters to his career.

Well to be fair he did beat an old Wlad. It’s still a good win. And he “beat” Wilder. Now I was never high on Wilder but many are I mean espn in America their panel has Wilder in the top 10 p4p (I think that shows very poorly on them)
Fury has a couple of good wins he handled Chisora rather easily two times and Chisora is a game if limited slugger.
I think it’s premature to pick Fury against an in prime Hall of Fame modern heavy like Lewis. I would expect Lewis to win. I think he has to be the pick right now. But I don’t want to disparage Fury he’s won two fights against big names in their backyards that he was expected to lose. He deserves credit. I’m hoping he and Joshua mix it up next year!

Wins over an old Wlad and a very overated one trick pony like Wilder don't put him on a par with a proven great heavyweight like Lewis who has an excellent resume.

While I agree and that is why I pick Lewis. I think it’s a harsh statement to say who the hell has he beaten. I picked Wlad to win and as I remember most ppl did - and most picked Wilder. He has a pair of nice on the road wins on his ledger even if one is an “official” draw.
Plus he brings a rather unique skill set. No one his size has ever moved quite like him it does make him an interesting topic. He still can’t punch a lick though if he could Wilder would of been gone in 3 rounds. I’m interested in his next fight. And for me that’s a good thing. The division needs interest.

Lewis. Fury just doesn't have the names and the performances against those names to convince me that he could beat a prime version of Lewis.

    *Could* he beat Lewis?

Yes. Lewis was notoriously hot and cold and if Fury ran into him on one of his stinker nights he's got the size and skills to pull off the win.

But I couldn't favour him if allthings were equal; he's got a long way to build the sort of resume Lewis has.

Who didn't Lewis beat is the question !Every top name more or less of his era. The two that got a W over him got soundly beat in rematch s .Out of the 90 s era he came out top dog with out a doubt .
And the last fight of his life he beat a man who went on t semi rule the division .
As for Lewis v Fury .
Lewis get s out boxed for several rounds then catches Fury with a blasting right hand from Hell ,and that's the start of the end.
    Lewis ko Fury 8
