True, I wouldn't normally associate with someone who is so demonstrably stupid :yep

I thought the damage was done by glove tape honed to a fine edge by Lewis' dastardly seconds.

There was also a theory doing the rounds that Lewis wasn't in fact wearing a glove on his right hand but a portable angle grinder painted red.

Always lot's of 'theories' doing the rounds whenever a Klit loses though, coincidence?

    You've answered your own question.

It was Kirk Johnson... the man who managed to DQ himself against Ruiz, and has makes James Toney look like a disciplined eater.

If your auntie had nuts she would be your uncle.

The cut DID happen. It was caused by a punch, then made worse by repeated punches to the same spot until Vitali was stopped.

    That's boxing my friend. :smoke

One might as well say that all boxers are "lucky" to land punches.

Vitaly at his peak lost to an old, shot fighter in Lewis, nothing anyone says can change it.

Vitali was still an unknown in the USA. The fight was not even a PPV. The only time Vitali had fought in the States before this was on an undercard against some hobo in an Indian casino.

The date of Lewis-Vitali was originally scheduled for Lewis-Tyson II.

Tyson then said he wanted a tune-up first, so it was going to be a co-feature with Lewis vs Kirk Johnson and Tyson vs another scrub, in order to give them both easy wins and hype up the rematch. Then Tyson pulled out of the even altogether, and Vitali vs Boswell was added.

Then Kirk pulled out with 2 weeks to go. Lewis had already sunk so much cash into the event (as co-promoter) and training costs that they made Lennox vs Vitali so it wouldn't be a complete loss.

The rest, as they say, is history.

Vitali was seen as another Golota. His claim to fame was quitting against Chris Byrd.

You need to watch more boxing. :yep

Round 2 was good, but only because Lennox was so slow and uncoordinated that he was an easy target. That made it exciting, but as an exhibition of boxing, it was pretty sub-standard. This was the only round that Vitali dominated by the way, the rest were close.

Lennox swept the last round on all 3 cards. Even without the cut, he was starting to figure Vitali out and was landing bombs.
