Yes it should have. Get over it.

Look at Vitali's face - he was at risk of suffering sever permanent injury had the fight of been allowed to continue. A doctor, a fully trained medical expert stopped the fight.

Dr Paul Wallace "When he raised his head up, his upper eyelid covered his field of vision. At that point I had no other option but to stop the fight. If he had to move his head to see me, there was no way he could defend his way against a punch."

He required 60 stitches. He had two cuts above his left eye, one below his eye, one on his cheek, and one in his mouth. His face took 3 months to heal. He was advised not to box for at least 6 months.

this **** is right, and in hindsight it was the best thing that could have possibly happened to vitali as he would have been knocked out in the next couple of rounds.

instead, vitali went on to build his entire legacy off the back of fighting a shot lennox lewis, showing that he could compete at elite level, keeping his dignity intact by finishing on his feet.

i genuinely like vitali but his fans should be greatfull for what happenned instead of playing the victim day in day out. the truth is that vitali got the luckiest break of his life that day.

Lewis gave him surgery in that fight, literally rearranged his face.

Lennox was just warming up while Vitali was hanging on for dear life. It was only going to get much worse for vitali.. I like vitali as a boxer ,one of the greats imo so im glad he got to fight another day..

My only gripe is that lennox didnt ko merchent for asking such ******ed questions, giving klitards the impression lennox couldnt hack it..:patsch
