I have tried in vain to comprehend what you are alluding to But there comes a time when throwing your arms in the air and walking away is the most appropriate response.
Vitali was an excellent fighter a very good world champion but in my eyes Lennox Lewis is an all time great heavyweight. Lewis was past his best was not at his fittest and regardless of Chins tore Vitalis face into shreads (looked as he had been slashed repeatedly with a knife). He was tough as **** to be standing after that but Lennox hit too hard for any heavyweight in history to take that kind of punishment for 12 rounds, hence why it was over in half that.
13 years ago now and I wonder how many more years a small minority are going to go on whinging and moaning? The doctor rightfully ruled Vitali was medically unfit to continue. Proof of that was the state of Vitali's eye and the 60 stitches his face required. Lewis won. Vitali lost. Get over it.
For an uncontentious fight, this one always proves weirdly contentious. It's years ago and like a thousand fights before it it was fairly close until it wasn't and it got stopped for the right reasons in a way that nobody disputes. Yet, year after year, loads of threads about it. It wasn't that great or interesting or controversial was it? It was a heavyweight fight, one bri/canadian against a big, stif eastern european cheese-ball with a particularly jerky, annoying, unpleasing style. So what. I guess I am saying I don't care about the fight or who won or might have won or could have won if they fought ten times.... what's far more interesting to me is why so many of you are interested and invested in this fight?
This subject is the most lied about fight in boxing history. Why do people feel the need to lie and add things on.. Vitali gave Lewis a beating and won the event. Lewis never gave us a rematch and like a coward prematurely retired. End of.
Prime Vitali before his injuries was one of the most exciting fighters heavyweights ever, a monster.. how could you not enjoy watching him.
There is no way he would have ever won halfbway through the fight looks like a rottweiler ate his face. Imagine what it wd have looked like after 12 rds
Calzaghe has the worst KOs.. but worst to the person feeling it and the giver because of the box philosophy.. that's not to say a fighter can't be complete.. hybrid is 200%.. or infinity or unlimited on both sides of the barx etc.. 50% is like an Arthur Abraham.. he's half a boxer and half a slugger.. but you can be Ali and Mike rolled into one and beyond..
