Lewis would have stopped him.. I'd say by the 4th or 5th. It'd take him a few rounds to get into his rhythm and find Wladimir's chin, but when he does.. it's over.
In a lot of ways this is correct. but I have to go with Lennox. The competition he beat was so much better, and his losses were neither as numerous or as embarrassing. Plus, Lennox was not down 11 times in his carreer, so his chin was considerably less shakey.
Lennox after being down was never able to finish a fight. So if he went down, good chance he can't continue.
This is more due to Lennox's stronger mentality than that of Wladimir's. Lennox isn't afraid to take a shot, or get into a dogfight here and there, Wlad on the other hand get's hit with a clean shot and just has an anxiety attack and falls all over the place.
But when has Wlad been knocked utterly unconscious, out cold, the way Lewis has??? I'd say it's pretty damn close. The telltail sign of shaky chin is not how many times you hit the canvas, but what happens when you end up there.:yep
yeah i agree. as manny once said. wladimir worries sometimes when he is hit simply because he is so damn good at avoiding punishment, so if he goes a couple of fights without tasting a hard shot, he gets mentally used to the shock free zone. hell, in sparring with the headgear he is so confident wladimir never gets touched according to a couple folks who worked with him. and again like Zakman said, it's how you react once your on the floor. i really think with wladimir it's being tall and top heavy (on those thin legs of his), mental and stamina. yes his chin isn't granite but he's always gotten to his feet before being counted out. if lewis won by ko it would most likely be a tko, and later in the fight when wladimir tires and panics a bit. but if wladimir won, it could come at any moment with a laser accurate right hand on the button which would either ko lewis bad, or at least hurt him enough for wladimir to throw 1 or 2 more shots to seal the deal. prime for prime i could see it end anytime for wladimir (but if he's in ultra cautious mode it might go late), but for lewis to win it would be late as i really think wladimir biggest weakness is stamina and he would be careful in the early rounds. yes, i know he doesn't show much stamina issues lately. but i think while he could perform while tired, he is more succeptible to dangerous shots while fatigued, and that is what would do him in. ironically i feel the loss to sanders made wladimir more dangerous to lewis in that while it made him more cautious, and that would serve him well against the dangerous lewis who would most likely try to replicate his 1st round assault like he did against golota. if he got past the first round assault i think the chances swing into wladimirs favour as it would be at range battle which i think wladimir is superior at and lewis would not be able to get in close for pocket fighting. EDIT: **** im tired. pardon the awful grammar!
While Lewis was busy cleaning out the division, Wlad was fighting absolute no hopers it was pathetic. There was no chance for this fight to happen as apparently Wlad's management would never let Wlad fight Lewis. This is the same thing happening with Dimitrenko. I tihnk he is prime now but he is fighting absolute obscure fighters. And just when Wlad retires, he will come to prominence.
Anyway about this fight, Lewis is one of the best inside fighting big HW ever. Perhaps the only HW better at inside fighting is Bowe. Wlad may be able to match Lewis outside game, jabs, right hands, etc. But once they get close, Wlad has is just like Ali - zero inside fighting skills. Lewis kills him with uppercuts, short crisp hooks and kidney shots. He will not be able to tie up Lewis with his very loose clinch. As good as Wlad is, he will end up in the canvass ala Michael Grant.
