Wlad would probably have a better chance with a Lewis trained by Steward. The Lewis that fought Ruddock probably puts Wlad into Larry Merchant's lap inside a round.
I think Vitali has better defense than Wlad does. I do think Wlad's jab is better than Lewis, but Lewis has too many components to his game. I don't think Lewis would blow him out, but I do think he would have won. (wouldn't count Wlad out though)
Disagree. Wlad could have outboxed Lewis pretty easily. He has a better jab and a straighter right hand. He could not have out fought him. Wlad probably would have won the first five or six round and than got tagged by something big by the slow starting Lewis.
Wlad has a better jab and he's much better at doubling it up. Lewis was badly outjabbed by Ray Mercer in his prime. I cannot recall anyone even coming close to outjabbing Wlad.
Lewis! Without a doubt. Wlad's my fighter, but you can't escape the facts. Lewis was equally skilled, much more confident, and much more ring savy than Wlad. Also, as stated above, Lewis had Manny. We all know Steward has been the missing piece of Wlad's puzzle. There partnership has helped Wlad become an unstoppable force in boxing.
It depends on in what stage of Wlad's career this happens. I think it would also come down to who lands the first big punch.
He bombed out overrated big men who had major weaknesses. Golota and Grant were not elite fighters by any stretch of the imagination. None of them won a championship, let alone defended it 8 times. The only othe big man Lewis fought was Vitali and he certainly didn't bomb him out.
Definitely 50:50. Does anyone really think lewis could take one of Wlads right hands?? I think if it went to the cards Lewis edges it but Wlad could end it at any time.
