come on, ur kidding. a-1 remember lewis-holyfield one? as i recall...a 12 round jab fest in a unification of allegedly two of the greats.

i think people are remembering lewis a lil too romantically. he only had a few big ko's that i can recall, and they were loooong drawn out ones (cept against golota).

wlad in his career has had many more explosive ko's. kinda sick of hearing how after ONE fight like this, wlad is a boring fighter. if its not one thing its another with a lot of these people...

the guy won, get over it.

Lennox Lewis didn't fight scared. It is very obvious that Klitschko fights scared. Not safety first, because even when he's safe he doesn't pull the trigger.

Can you imagine Klitschko firing these uppercuts right in the middle of a Tyson rush?

Vitali Klitschko on the other hand was cool under fire. I miss him a lot.

Wladimir is a ***** and he's very boring to watch

The most unsophisticated bunch of neophytes to call themselves 'boxing fans" I've ever heard of. Rock'em sock'em robots should be their cup of tea. A guy like Wlad Klitschko with his ko's and highlight reel power finishes gets called 'dull' after one fight. Ridiculous.

there is a big difference between cautious and scared. if he were scared, he wouldnt fight. especially for less money.

still didnt address the fact that lennox's fights put e-1 to sleep.

Wlad was seriously boring last night, any more timid and he will be more frightened than Audley Harrison.

He was like a girl with one of his hands.

In a sense I agree with you. winning is exciting. When I was watching Lewis, I was always aware that I was watching a guy that I enjoyed as a winner since the olympics.

Occasionally, he starched guys like Golota or Ruddock. More often, he one off the jab. Regardless, he won.

If Klit can is the same, then so be it. Reign ten years and no one is going to care when future generations of fans are reading the history books.

I'm not knocking Wlad, but Lewis WAS more exciting. Lewis had more grit. Can you imagine Wlad walking through Vitali's incoming fire to try and win? Can you imagine Wlad in the dog fight with Mercer? Would Wlad have imediately attacked and walked through a percieved dangerous big man like Grant? Would Wlad have zeroed in and assisnated Golota in a round?

Wlad may have beaten all of these guys, but he would have done it by lulling them with a good jab, and then dropping a right hand after about 5 or 6rounds. Effetive but not as exciting as a blitz that Lewis was capable of.

If Wladdy wants to be remembered merely as No.1 in a weak era, that's the way to do it. He won, and he made it look easy.

However, I thought you guys want him to be remembered as a GREAT fighter...

Great fighters win that kind of fight by KO. Hell, whenever he threw the right hand he had Ibragimov in danger. A Great fighter fights great, not scared.

How can you call Wladdy a great fighter after that performance. He made the whole unification thing meaningless with that performance.

I'm not talking rock em sock em... I'm talking "whenever he threw the right hand he landed and he rocked Ibragimov"... he could have easily finished him.

It was a pathetic performance from a great fighter standpoint... it was a good performance from a good fighter standpoint. All depends where you want Wladdy to go, toward greatness or toward goodness.

    YES!

Lewis was sometimes very cautious, e.g. vs. Tua and even Tyson. But still, he landed a bunch of nasty uppercuts on both and finishes Tyson the way he should've...

Wladdy would've carried Tyson all 12 rounds... can you imagine Wladdy facing that version of Tyson, he would have **** his pants.

Lennox was a great technical boxer who was also hated on in his day for being a boring fighter, I didn't agree with that then and I don't agree with the Klitschko bashing now. But, as a rule, when a great boxer retires, tales of their brilliance are exaggerated to the point that, after 4 years or so, they become near mythical creatures.
The same people who are now crying that they want Lewis back are probably the same people who were calling him glass jawed, effiminate, and boring back when he was active. It's all pretty pathetic really
