Lennox Lewis would always have brutalized Tyson.

    I don't think so.
Tyson was a whole different animal in the late 80s, even early 90s.

    Zakman is a Tyson-bumboy clearly.
He cant accept that Lewis has cast iron chin like larry Holmes and Tyson has decent chin like Joe Frazier.

    :patsch:lol::patsch:patsch:twisted::rofl:hi:

Tyson-fanboys are not welcome in classic forum.
If anyone is getting wiped out in first 4 rounds then it's tyson if he made Lewis angry.

I agree , we can see in most of Lewis' early KOs that when people put pressure on him , he just out brawls the opponent.

Except the very limited Oliver Mcall who flattened him or Ray Mercer who basically fought him to a razor close loss. Lewis never faced a brawler as fast and as good as Tyson. He would be in trouble if he tried to open up against the 88 version of Tyson who punched far harder and faster than both Mercer and Mcall.

    Precisily, Tyson-battyboys will NEVEr learn.

who the holy **** did Tyson KO within 4 rounds?
Ancient old Holmes, light heavyweight Spinks, glass jaw Bruno and Alex Stewart, Henry Tillman, Carl Williams, Tony Tubbs, Berbick - BUT they were basically all petrified of Tyson and **** there panties.

Now who did Lennox KO within 4 rounds?
Rahman, Botha, Grant, Golota, Ruddock and Tyrell Biggs - all were brave and stood up to Lewis, but they paid for putting pressure on Lewis with early wipe-outs.

teh evidence is there for all tyson-fannyboys to observe - Lewis KO'd better quality fighters early in a fight than tyson did.

What he said has some truth, though. His struggle with Mercer while at his best needs to be taken into account.

No doubt it does, I just noticed in most threads about Lewis he doesn't go easy on him.

I don't think Lewis reached his peak until a year or so after the Mercer fight for what's its worth.

Yes I rate Lewis highly, but like the Klitschkos are doing now, his legacy was pounded out against a bunch of flawed fighters in my opinion. Personally I dont think he would have been as dominant or successful had he came into his prime in the late 80's.
He just struggled too much with the few fighters he faced from that era and those fighters could mix it up a lot better than the guys he beat in the late 90's who were big and strong but lacking in a lot of other areas. Its almost the opposite of today's era.
Because of that I would pick prime versions of Bowe, Tyson and Holyfield to beat him, but I rank him behind Holyfield and ahead of both Bowe and Tyson on accomplishments, although close if not even with Tyson.

    Playing devils advocate here..

Rahman: legit awesome KO win but, while good for legacy, he was stopping a guy that had stopped him earlier.

    Botha: not worht mentioning.

Grant: never turned out to acheive anything spectacular.

Golota: reportedly suffered an allergic reaction to an injection he had prior to the fight.

Ruddock: going through a whole world of personal issues and trained for about 10 days.

Point being you can scrutinise any win/loss as much as you want!

Rahman is a top 10 heavywieght puncher and grade B+ Lewis destroyed Rahman get his payback. it was a very good win.

Botha got a title shot against Lewis in 2000 and tyson had to wait until 2002 - this means Botha was considered to be better than Tyson at teh time as the belts/ring mag ranked him higher than tyson. Botha is grade B+, it was a very good win.

Ruddock was still peaked and trained extra hard - he was in better physical shape than in 1991 vs Tyson. Lewis destroyed a man who gave Tyson Hell twice. Ruddock is grade B+, very good win.

Grant was advertised by HBO as teh next big thing - he was meant to be a undesputed champion, a huge superwieght puncher with longer reach and taller height than Lewis. But - Lewis destroyed him like he was nothing. Grant is Grade A- Great win.

Golota - excuses about a fake injection he did not have dont chance teh fact that Lewis destroyed prime Golota, who destroyed prime Bowe in 1996 and Bowe had ducked Lewis in 1993. Golota is grade A- Great win.

Tyrell Biggs beat Lewis in teh olmypics and was trained by angelo dundee. Lewis beat-up Biggs and got his revenge. Biggs is grade B, very good win.
