NFW could Lennox have made 200 even if he wanted to, and why the hell would he want to when the bigger money fights are at heavyweight?

Lennox would definitely not be the same fighter if he was killing himself to make weight. Lots of HW's came in around the 220s over the years, even Wlad probably made the 220s a few times.

These guys talk about cutting weight like it's a walk in the park :nut
Especially when they start mentioning the lower weights, those guys were cutting weight since their amateur days and get into the groove of it. LL was a full-fledged HW his whole life, going down to CW would have made no sense financially or for his legacy.

Why not mention guys like David Tua? If he lost some fat and cut weight he could have easily made today's CW limit.

Lewis would have stayed at HW because he was a pugilist specialist who beat the hell out of all his opponents.

Lennox wouldn't have made cruiserweight when he was in his teen years... lol..

a solid 220lbs at his lightest .... Lewis would have had to cut off an arm or crashed his diet and shredded solid muscle mass like Byrd did for that dreaded fight with Shaun George where his power left home and neverr came back............

You don't have to exaggerate to make your point. Paul does not cut 20 pounds to make 147. He walks around under 160. Fact.

No he wouldn't. That was the very early days and I'm still not even sure your theory is correct that he'd have been able to make 200lbs.

No ****, ******. But he wouldn't have to lose 25 pounds of fat, people can sweat off at least 15-20 pounds or even more.

You can make this claim about most past HWs... but Lewis is a really bad choice. LL was a really big guy and would of course have been a HW today.

I didn't say it would be easy, I said it would be possible.

Lighter weights who carry less water in their system can and have dropped as much as 20 pounds or even more. 225 pound Lennox Lewis would logically be able to lose more than them because he carries more water, obviously it wouldn't be advisable and he'd be severely drained but it's possible.

Williams has had a dozen fights @ MW. Are you claiming he walks around in the 180's? According to William's camp, he walks around in the 150's
He's probably usually in the 160's, but he looked like a starvation victim @ WW.

    :deal

Why the **** would Lennox Lewis want to fight nobodies at cruiserweight for less pay and glory knowing that he would only barely be able to make that weight for the short term when he already won a heavyweight gold medal and was more than capable of being successful at heavyweight were there is more money, more exposure and more glory than at cruiserweight.

In 1961 Ali was weighing in around 188.

That is within SMW weight cutting range.

In 1934 Louis was weighing in around 181.

That is within MW weight cutting range.

In 1900 Johnson was weighing in around 168.

That is within WW weight cutting range.

    Discuss.

I'm in complete disagreement. I'm 6'5 and 240 lbs. I have been as low as 228 and tried to cut my water and carbs to make Cruiser. I cut 18 lbs and felt like a dead man. I've known powerlifters that cut 20+ pounds, but they don't have to have cardiovascular performance. Lewis would have never been able to cut from a very lean 224 and performed in a long fight. Maybe with no carbs, no water, sweating and lasix. No way he could perform.

Absolutely no chance to cut that amount of weight off
