What he said about Ali was true, though,so it's not stupid and it's not weak to say what he did.Plus Lewis was no stamina king himself,so he may or may not have punched himself out,but there's a massive possibility that he may have gassed chasing Muhammed around the ring because he's certainly not going to outjab Ali.

Make it a 15 rounder and that pretty much shuts out all arguments . Keep in mind also that even though Ali is shorter he has close to the same reach but with better placement and control. Also lets not forget footwork. Lennox would be chasing Ali all night getting his head snapped back every ten seconds or so. Also lets not forget intagibles like heart and will and also it's not like Ali was featherfisted also . Don't get it twisted though. I'm a huge fan of Lennox . My appreciation grows for him everyday when I see todays HW division . But can we be real.

Oh while we are nitpicking, let's do this one, Lennox got knocked out by Hasim Rahman:

Sorry pal but its you who is an idiot. Ali's ring generalship dwarfs Lennox "jabs and uppercuts". When did you ever see Ali chase someone with his prancing shuffling . You just owned yourself buddy. I love Lennox too but if your objective it's clear that more than likely Lennox would be fighting Ali's fight. Ali is not going to be chasing Lennox are you stupid? Lennox best strategy would be to get Ali to rope a dope but with room to move Ali is whooping that ass. Someone who gets draws with Evander Holyfied is'nt out boxing or ring generalising Ali. If you don't agree just accept that I'm not budging from my opinion and you can stay with yours.

Which heavies, and what skills are you talking about? Lennox...as much as I like him was countered into a stoppage, and was flattened by a man with basically no skills. Ali is not the one you want to use as an example of size and speed against the more recent heavies lol... Size don't mean **** when it comes to Ali in his prime lol...

    But nowhere near as good.

In the Rahman fight, Lewis was the same age as Ali was when he lost on points to Leon Spinks.

That fight was Spinks EIGHTH professional fight. Can you post footage of Lewis being outpointed by someone with less than 10 pro fights?

If your insane argument is that Lewis at 36 got KO'd by Rahman, therefore he was **** and Ali would beat him easy, then it's just as easy to say if a fighter with only 7 fights (6-0-1) experience can outpoint Ali at teh same age, then Lewis wins a ridiculously wide points decision.

Ali lost to a small Norton, and got ****ing gifts over him too. Everyone remembers the Ali great performances, and pretends the **** ones never happened. I'm not sure how Ali actually managed to ever lose a fight the way he's being described in this thread.

IMO, Ali would beat Lewis, but it would be one of his toughest fights. Lewis could win IMO, but he'd be the definite underdog.

    Not really.

Society has got bigger sure, and Ali was generally the bigger man in the ring, same with Lewis.

But you can't just add 25 pounds on Ali, but say his speed and stamina would remain the same. They wouldn't. He's carrying an extra 25 pounds around every single step he takes.

His brain and smarts remain the same. But blow Ali up and say to make it fair he's almost Lewis size (which negates Lewis's advantage in this fight) - you've got to then also say - but now he's a lot slower, not as agile, nor have the same stamina. carrying the extra 25 pounds will wear him down quicker.

If you remove (or reduce) Lewis's size and strength advantage - then you've got to remove or reduce Ali's speed and stamina advantage.

Makes no difference to me, I still pick Ali to find a way to win this. Lewis has much more than just a simple punchers chance in this one though.
