He faught Bowe as an amateur. And obviously won. The reason why Bowe didn't fight him.

Holyfield, Tyson, Lewis were all around the same age when they faught. So you can count them as decent wins on Lewis's resume.

It's a shame that nobody wanted to fight Lewis. 90s was a strong era, and as time passes is getting remembered for being very strong.

lennox lewis is the best H2H heavy of all time with a ****ing great resume (bruno, rudduck, botha, golota, tyson, holyfield, v.klitschko). there is nothing better than that

I think I remember this right, but when Tysons rematch fell threw with buster, the date was opened up to everyone Lewis and everyone else except Holyfield had turned Tyson down. Let not act like Lewis went after every big fighter, because he didn't.

Not too sure wether your being sarcastic but you missed out the likes of mercer, Tua, Briggs, Morrison, Mavrovic (underrated win IMO) but his resume has hardly any bad fighters on it since he beat Mason. Had all the tricks in the book. If his mental peak came at the same time as his physical peak I think even the likes of Ali, foreman, Holmes etc struggle to beat him

First, let me preface this comment by telling you all that I named my dog Lennox in honor of my "favorite" heavyweight. With that said, he is not the greatest. Not even the greatest "Lewis" (that honor goes to Joe Louis). Definitely top 5 to me and could have been higher in a different era.

That's garbage simply because Lewis wasn't even fighting above domestic level back then.

Lewis KOd Razor Ruddock in two rounds in 1992 in the WBC title eliminator and then called everyone out. No one wanted to fight him. Not even Bowe.

Tyson went to prison, came out, got the a title off Bruno. Then gave it up and paid Lewis $4 million not to fight.

To be fair, Holyfield was preoccupied with other matters and had some serious health scares between 1992-95. You can suggest Holyfield wouldnt throw down with him, but you'd be absolutely dead wrong. Lennox lost to McCall in '94 and didnt get back in the game until a dubious MD win over Mercer in 1996. He would fight both Klitschkos right down if he could get it sanctioned. Utterly fearless fighter was Holyfield, with one of the greatest chins and heart in HW history.

Nice post bro :good I also appreciate what a great fighter Holyfield was, I have him in my top 10. In his prime he lost once to bowe and once to moorer(although he was pretty much having a heart attack in the ring) and evened both of them. He has battled like a warrior and even when he was shot to **** has some good wins and even when in a losing effort he's been inspirational in doing so

Holyfield was the ****ing man. No questions asked.

One of the greatest heavyweight battles in modern history:
