A cuts win is a legit stoppage. Lennox is clearly a superior fighter to Vitali, he showed it when he was overweight, past his best and semi-retired, and prime Lennox would have mauled Vitali in a worse fashion. Lennox's best win is either Holyfield or Vitali. He has many more very good wins, and he had Bowe running scared :deal
Ruddock and Golota are very underrated wins. Ruddock just went 12 rounds with Tyson and lost by 4-5 points in the cards. For Lewis to tap that ass in 2 rounds a year or so after was pretty impressive. Same with Golota. Beat up Bowe for 2 fights before he was DQed and for Lewis to Knock him the **** out n 1 round was brilliant as well
He has a very deep record, the Ruddock win for instance is better than any win on Vitali's and Wlad's records, and that's not even one of Lewis' signature wins. As a big Lewis fan, the Tyson win isn't really worth much. It made sense because at the time the public wanted it, and it was a pretty easy payday really. I think from Lennox's point of view, along with the money, he just wanted Tyson's name on his record. If he didn't beat Tyson, people would still be going on about it today. As a fighter though, at that point Tyson was shot to ****.
:good it's kind of like the position Holmes was in when fighting Ali (although at the time Holmes was at the peak of his career) however in hindsight, much like Tyson-Lewis the wins both are almost worthless.
Golota and Ruddock were shocking. Tyson for the prestige factor. Briggs for excitment Tua for technical excellence can't pick one!
It's not Vitali Lennox Lewis is the man with the second best ever (behind Ali) HW resume, his best win is definitely not Vitali Klitschko, even if Vitali remains unbeaten till retirement, which is very likely
always liked the galota, grant, and ruddock performances for the way people at the time thought they had a decent chance against lewis and he basically just kicked 10 shades of **** out of all 3 of them.
You can find videos of Ali calling out Holmes prior to it, when there's that much pressure in the media, and a guy like Muhammad Ali is calling you out, he had to take that fight. In hindsight, as you said both are worthless wins. Did you know that if Tyson beat Danny Williams, he would have faced Vitali Klitschko? That would have been truly horrible to watch. Lennox finished Tyson off as a top level Heavyweight, imagine what Klitschko would have done to him 18 months later
That's easy. Vitali is Lennox' best victory. Only opponent in Lennoxes resume that was 1. in his prime and who 2. went on to a dominating HW reign after being beaten by Lennox. All the other guys in Lewis' resume were past their prime or never achieved anything after getting beaten by Lewis. Vitali is the only exception.
Nobody expected Golota & Ruddock to be obliterated like that. :deal Lewis has some seriously monstrous power. :scaredas:
