Watch the Franck Bruno fight he was losing in the cards and getting dominated by Bruno's jab until he landed a big shot out of the blue.
Bruno was getting tired and winging shots, the knockout would of came eventually. I would say Mercer as well, who on my cards I had winning by a point or two, noone can say it wasnt a close fight.
That isn't true about the Bruno fight, they were drawing on 2 judges cards when Lewis stopped him. I'd say Vitali Klitschko then Ray Mercer, only because against Klitschko you had the feeling (and I'm sure Lennox did too) that Vitali had the power to stop him, Mercer didn't, he was just a tough threshing machine. Mercer fight was gruelling, Klitschko fight was perilous.
he was getting out jabbed but he wasnt getting dominate. was he losing yes but he did show more than a left hook that rocked frank. he was doubling up on his it was a technical fight that he wasnt getting away withh.
I thought I read somewhere where Lewis himself answered this question and said his toughest opponent was Zeljko Mavrovic
Mohawk was one tough guy. Lewis hit him with all kinds of shots and he kept taking them for the full 12.
Klitschko. I would say Mercer, but that was only because of the small ring. In a bigger ring and that is a much different fight. Even with the small ring, I still think the judges scored that fight incorrectly. Mercer's freakish chin made the fight seem closer than it actually was. Both of his losses weren't tough fights, as Lewis would have won until he got caught. Klitschko was the only fighter to actually "beat" Lennox up until the stoppage.
I think I'm right in saying that Bruno was ahead on the cards against Lewis before he was TKO'd. No-one ever mentions that though, because it was before the internet and ridiculous Klit nuthuggery. Bruno actually had Lewis hurt and was going in for the kill when he walked into a huge left hook that finished the fight - at no point did VITLAY go in for the kill against Lewis, maybe he'd seen that Bruno fight :yep
