Prime for prime ,both guys are superheavies, around the same size, both have great jabs , and good power . Does Lennox overwhelm the Russian ,or has Wlad a decent chance of causing an upset?
Lennox via one-sided demolition. Different class of fighter entirely, and he won't crack under pressure.
This topic's been done numerous times, the one good thing is that most continue to agree that Lewis would win.
Lewis KO Wladimir comes out so tentative and stiff and I think Lewis would capitalize by taking the fight to him early and starching him.
Both huge hitters, but Lewis' chin seems to be better. Or maybe more important: he handles pressure and trouble really well. Wladimir looks invincible when things go his way, but has shown trouble in adversity. He is getting better, but doesn't seem to have the "fighter" in him that Lewis does. So, unless Wlad's run between 31 and 35 is really impressive (as Lewis' was), i'd make Lewis a solid favorite. One thing that should be noted is that this not likely to be a jabbing contest. Lewis always went very aggressive after big opponents (Grant, V. Klitschko, Ruddock, Golota).
Wlad's excellent jab might give Lewis some trouble, but I'll go for Lewis, since I think he was better all around and more adaptable. I think this "glass jaw" thing is a bit exaggerated, Lewis did take some of Vitaly's best shots after all.
Com'on, not this old chestnut again. Lewis was stopped twice in 14 years in an era of big hitters. Unless he's a heavweight version of Willie Pep or Wilfredo Benitez (and he wasn't) there's no way Lewis has a glass jaw. Lewis by early KO simply because Lewis has chopped almost every big man he ever faced down to size in double-quick time. It was the smaller men that usually troubled Lewis more (Holyfield, Mercer for example) rather than the bigger men. Ruddock, Grant, Golota, Briggs etc all knocked out in 5 rounds or less. Wlad's not as durable as his brother so I see no reason why Wlad would last beyond 5 rounds.
Lennox would win because he is more of a natural fighter, Wlad has excellent tools but is static, hates pressure, looks like a deer in the headlights when hit. Lennox also adapts better, has better movement, footwork, killer instinct, chin, composer, timing, right hand and combinbation thrower. Prime Lennox is more athletic. As for what Wlad does better: Jab, Left Hook (just), but it won't matter because Lennox would rush him and even if Wlad catches and hurts lennox, Lennox will still get his big shots on Wlad and when that happens Wlads out BTW Lennoxs chin looks like iron compared to Wlads, tell me Wlad could take these shots: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u4SQmxIP5Bk
That link is video proof that Lewis had a good chin. Look how many left hooks he took from Tua. Tell me that Wlad would have taken all those? Some people rate Tua's left hook as one of the hardest single heavyweight punches of all time yet Lewis took several. Either Tua's power (and Bruno's, Tyson's, Mercer's, Vitaly's et al) is vastly underatted or Lewis doesn't actually have a glass jaw after all.
Huh? Wlad has better footwork, guard and defense. He clinches better too, and has better hand speed. This fight could go either way. I'd favor Lewis by a small margin just because I think he has better nerves early on in a fight. Lewis was not a pure destoryer type, except for the Ruddock fight, or when he sensed his man was frozen or weak. I think the fight is tactical, and hinges on whomever lands something serious first.
