Just can't believe the Muhammed Ali like skills of Fury, couldn't stop him being knocked over by a wild crude windmill of the devastating bronze bomber! Lol.
For months going on years the consensus on the site has been that Wilder doesn't have great fundamentals but is athletic with tremendous power. Fury didn't expose that. He demonstrated that. Big difference. Lennox Lewis's stint as a commentator for HBO demonstrated two things: 1. He had difficulty putting his words together and his commentary is largely remembered for it's comedic value of his ineptitude. 2. His knowledge of the boxing scene was deplorable. Like many athletes he didn't really follow his own sport very closely nor did he have much historical knowledge about boxing.
I have never felt that way about LL. Articulate, affable, laid back. I like his style. Haven't listened to him enough to know his historical knowledge of the sport.
Exposed means having something you believed to be true shown to be a lie. No one thought Wilder was a great boxer or that he wouldn't get outboxed for large stretches against Fury, which is exactly what happened. So in that regard he was exactly as advertised. What many people didn't expect was that this version of Fury would be able to keep up his concentration levels for twelve rounds, and that he would be able to get up from Wilder's KO punch if landed cleanly. In that regard perhaps Wilder was exposed, but considering fighters have withstood Wilder's power before that wasn't telling us anything new either.
