He seems underrated when we look at his record..... Probably the most accomplished venezuelan fighter ever.....
He was a good fighter circa the Yuh fights, but became rather ordinary as he moved up the divisions and took advantage of alphabet titles. Far from one of the greats.Think of him more as a Venezuelan Duke McKenzie.
I rate Pacquiao at 20-30 p4p ATG and Gamez 60-90 based on titles. Gamez was basically like the Venezuelan Pacquiao. But, he takes a hit for never getting any taller. So, he's like a Venezuelan Matlala, if anything. A Venezuelan Matlaquiao. That's the only way I can accurately describe him. He was from Venezuela.
gamez was a pretty good fighter but he was hardly a great of the sport. this is why people shouldn't consider titles when looking at fighters' records. who did they beat and when did they beat them should be the main thing you look at.
