Well one, Matthysse, doesn't go around saying he wants to fight the best and does f*ck all about it. Matthysse actually fought the best. LSC is most likely going to be fighting another TBA.

LSC made his choice, and it's to duck the best in his division.

 

LSC is more of a Mexicant than a Mexican....

 

Ostensibly sure but look at it from LSC point of view.

1) LSC is a 'name' but he didn't win gold, he's not on a wheaties box, I don't know what kind of endorsements he has but I'm not seeing him on Subway commercials.
2) He has a very limited career window. He's done better than most but how many short years does he have left to make money enough to carry him into retirement?
3) Haymon works for LSC but Haymon doesn't need Leo. Haymon has a stable of fighters and can drop Leo if he feels like it. He can black ball him and keep him off cards if he feels slighted or one of a thousand other things.

It's very, very easy to criticize someone for 'selling out' until you're the one with that choice. LSC is in the entertainment business and Haymon is the boxing equivalent of a big time movie producer to Leo's medium sized box office draw.

I understand why a fighter would kowtow to a big time manager/promoter. The names you listed are the exception, not the rule.

 

Coward is overstressing it. Leo is avoiding the toughest fights.

Lucas is singing the same song that Leo is and he ain't fighting nobody. His last two fights were against B class fighters, same as Leo. They ask for who they want but they take what they are given until the good fights come along. It's a process and neither of the fighters has much of a say. Lucas or Leo are not duckers so all that ducking talk is the ramblings of an uninformed mind.

Santa Cruz is not personally a coward, but I think he's not the sharpest tool in the shed and is inclined to listen to others who make excuses for him not to fight Rigo.

I think he knows he would lose but would take the fight anyway. His dad and Haymon are the ones not letting it happen.
